Hub separation from the wheel end may cause loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V700
Manufacturer Liquid Transport, Inc
Components POWER TRAIN
Potential Number of Units Affected 3
Summary
Liquid Transport, Inc (Liquid Transport) is recalling certain 2022 Hays-LTI PTNTT trailers. The 42mm cartridge bearing washer within the hub assembly may crack, causing the hub to separate from the axle wheel end.
Remedy
Liquid Transport will work with the equipment manufacturer, Dexter Axle Company, to replace the 42mm cartridge bearing washer, free of charge. Owners may contact Liquid Transport’s customer service at 1-229-336-7103.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Chronology :
“After receiving customer complaints/warranty claims on 16-June of a bearing failure, an investigation was initiated to determine the failure mechanism of the issue. Upon further investigation of the claims, it was discovered the washer associated 42mm cartridge bearing washer was cracking leading to potential bearing and hub assembly performance issues including detachment from the axle.” – Dexter Axle Company
