What we need you to do
Please contact a Jayco certified repair facility and schedule an appointment for this remedy. CAUTION: Do not use the cooktop and the furnace at the same time until the remedy is completed.
Chronology :
In December 2021, Highland Ridge received a claim of an inverted flame on the cooktop of a unit built in our Idaho location. Highland Ridge began monitoring our data for other similar allegations. Claims slowly continued to come in and each was discussed and evaluated in our weekly Warranty Incident Review Committee (WIRC) meetings.
In May 2022, an incident on a Starcraft unit was elevated from WIRC to the Corrective Preventive Action Committee (CPAC). The CPAC committee met on May 18, 2022 and discussed the incidents and decided to open an investigation.
On September 7, 2022, CPAC decided to elevate this matter to the Safety Steering Committee (SSC). Jayco towable engineering conducted testing to better understand the conditions that could lead to an inverted flame. This research was concluded at the start of October 2022.
On October 10, 2022 SSC met to discuss this matter and voted in favor of proceeding with a safety recall. Highland Ridge received a total of ten claims between December 2021 and September 2022.
