October 17th, 2023
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Nova Bus (US) Inc. has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Nova Bus
LFS 2022 manufactured from October 31, 2022, to December 14, 2022, potentially equipped with at least one power steering hose manufactured by a certain manufacturer during a certain time period.
Nova Bus (US) Inc. have voluntarily submitted the Vehicle Recall Report to NHTSA that generated the Safety Recall 23V054.
The service document CR5374 explaining the measures to be taken to remedy the affected vehicles will be published on its web site https://us.novabus.com/customer-portal/. The steering hoses will be replaced. The vehicle can be remedied starting from April 1rst 2023. The remedy should take approximately 150 minutes to complete. The necessary replacement parts will be available via the Nova Bus Parts distribution network. Nova Bus

The affected vehicles may have certain power steering hoses manufactured by a certain manufacturer during a certain time period may have not been assembled properly. Certain hoses may have not been inserted properly inside the assembly fitting potentially causing an insufficient crimp/retaining force on the hose. A power steering oil leak may be observed before the hose separates. Under certain conditions, an insufficient crimp/retaining force on the hose may lead to a hose separation which may cause a sudden loss of power steering assist which may increase the risk of a vehicle crash, especially at medium speed in an urban environment.
Any lessor who receives a notification of a determination of a safety-related defect or noncompliance pertaining to any leased motor vehicle shall send a copy of such notice to the lessee. This requirement applies to both initial and follow-up notifications but does not apply where the manufacturer has notified a lessor’s lessees directly.
