Incorrectly Installed Furnace May Cause Gas Leak
A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Summary
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River
) is recalling certain 2023 East to West Della Terra and East to West Silver Lake travel trailers. The furnace may have been installed incorrectly, causing the cold air return to invert the cooktop flame and resulting in a gas leak inside the cabin.
Remedy
Dealers will pull out the furnace as intended to allow for proper cold air return, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 5, 2023. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-264-6664. Forest River
’s number for this recall is 500-1644.

Chronology :
On May 18, 2022, during a routine PDI Inspection, it was found that the cooktop may be pulling the cooktop flame down/inverted. The PDI facility communicated with the manufacturing plant and their assigned Corporate Standards Manager.
On May 19, 2022, the Corporate Standards Manager for the manufacturing plant communicated to Forest Rivers Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) of the concern. OCC opened a research item the same day.
On May 22, 2023, confirmed the makes and models of vehicles which the furnace was incorrectly installed since model(s) inception.
On May 26, 2023, the Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall.

A-1 On May 26, 2023, OCC determined there was a clerical error in the first statement of the chronology stating that the cooktop was the cause of the inverted flame.
