2-Stage Regulator May Leak Propane
A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Summary
Triple E Recreational Vehicles (Triple E) is recalling certain 2023 Unity U24MB, U24cB, U24FX, U24MBL, U24RL, U24TB, and Wonder W24FTB, W24MBL, W24RL, W24RTB motorhomes. The 2-stage regulator may be improperly crimped, which can cause a gas leak.
Remedy
Dealers will perform a leak test, and replace the regulator, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 9, 2023. Owners may contact Triple E customer service at 1-877-922-9906. Triple E’s number for this recall is CA#10318-1.

Propane Regulator Recall QAAR 10318R1: Testing
Tools needed:
Approved propane gas leak detector fluid like Cal Blue or an ammonia free soap water solution.
Cordless driver
#1 Robertson (square) driver bit.
There must be at least 10% of propane in the tank to complete this test to obtain the minimum operating pressure of 10psi for the regulator.
Locate the propane regulator under the floor near the rear of the coach.
Some Unity coaches will be equipped with dual regulators.
Perform the following check on both.
Remove the 4 square drive screws from the plastic cover to reveal the regulator (s)
Turn on Propane supply.
Unity & W24RTB Battery disconnect ON & Propane switch ON W24MBL, W24RL, W24FTB: Valve at tank
Apply leak detector solution to both crimp areas of the regulator housing.
Inspect for leaks for at least 1 minute reapplying Cal Blu as necessary.
Smell and Listen for escaping propane (hissing or a smell of rotten eggs)
Place finger over regulator casing alignment hole (if visible) to verify excessive blowout is not preventing bubble formation.
Bubbles forming indicate a detected leak and the regulator must be replaced.

Propane Regulator Recall QAAR 10318R1: Replace Leaking Regulator
Only propane trained RV technicians to perform the following.
Tools required:
1/2″, 5/8″, and 19mm wrench
1/2″ Socket and wrench
Torque wrench capable of achieving 20ft.lb torque.
Regulator & fittings:
MEGR 298 (175k) 118-6136 with brass fittings 115-3224 & 115-3229 MEGR 298H (225k) 118-6132 with brass fittings 115-3224 & 115-3229 Dual regulator replacement fittings see SOP09012 OR SOP09014 for parts list based on model.
Turn Off Propane Supply.
Ignite the cooktop to burn off any propane in the lines
Use the 19mm and 5/8″ wrenches to disconnect the hoses from the brass fittings on the regulator.
Use the 1/2″ socket and wrench to remove the regulator bracket bolts.
Remove the 4 screws holding the regulator to the bracket.
Record the lot number stamped into the back housing of the failing regulator to report back to Leisure Travel Vans.
Record the lot number of the replacement regulator lot number to report back Leisure Travel Vans.
May be different than is shown.
Connect hoses to the replacement regulator, turn on propane and use leak detector to verify regulator seal at the inlet, outlet both ports and the face crimps. Inspect for 1 min.
Remount the regulator plastic cover and reinstall the bracket to the chassis.
Torque securement nuts and bolts to 20ft.lbs
Ignite the cooktop for 30seconds to verify propane regulator is working correctly.

ON APRIL 13 /2023 DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS IT WAS DETECTED THAT A REGULATOR HAD FAILED, THE ODOR OF PROPANE (ROTTEN EGGS) WAS EVIDENT.
ON MAY 1/2023 CONTACTED MARSHALL EXCELSIOR THE MANUFACTURER TO ALERT THEM TO A POTENTIAL ISSUE. ON MAY 14/2023 ANOTHER REGULATOR WAS DETECTED AS FAILING.
ON MAY 5 / 2023 A TRIPLE E RV SERVICING DEALER CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT INDICATING THAT THE RETAIL OWNER HAD SMELLED PROPANE & HEARD A HISSING OR LEAKING FROM THE LP REGULATOR.
ON MAY 19/2023 A RETAIL OWNER CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE INDICATING THAT THEY HAD SMELLED PROPANE & HEARD A HISSING OR LEAKING FROM THE LP REGULATOR.
ALL REGULATORS WITH THE LOT #K0722 & #K1822, PURCHASED FROM MARSHALL THAT WERE IN STOCK, WERE RETURNED TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR TESTING AND FOUND NOT TOO LEAK.

ON MAY 19/2023 A RETAIL OWNER CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE INDICATING THAT THEY HAD SMELLED PROPANE & HEARD A HISSING OR LEAKING FROM THE LP REGULATOR. ALL REGULATORS WITH THE LOT #K0722 & #K1822, PURCHASED FROM MARSHALL THAT WERE IN STOCK, WERE RETURNED TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR TESTING AND FOUND NOT TOO LEAK. IF THE REGULATOR PASSES NO ACTION IS REQUIRED. RETAIL OWNERS WILL BE SENT A LETTER ASKING TO CONFIRM THE LOT # OF THE REGULATOR ON THEIR MOTORHOME AND TO CONTACT THEIR SELLING DEALER OR AN RV SERVICE CENTER TO HAVE AN LP LEAK TEST PERFORMED AND REPLACE THE REGULATOR IF IT IS AFFECTED.
