A helmet that does not adequately protect the wearer from an impact can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Summary
Badass Helmet Company (Badass) is recalling certain Trooper motorcycle helmets, model TR001.6, in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, and 2XL. These helmets may not adequately protect the wearer in the event of a head impact during a motorcycle crash and they may not stay secured to the rider’s head. Additionally, the label inside the helmet may be incorrect in that it does not list the actual helmet manufacturer and does not list the model of the helmet. As such, these helmets fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, “Motorcycle Helmets.”
Remedy
Badass will notify owners and replace the defective helmets, free of charge. The recall began September 7, 2018. Owners may contact Badass customer service at 1-866-334-3563.

BADASS Helmet Company has decided that certain Trooper model helmets fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 218, “Motor Cycle Helmets.โ This recall applies only to Trooper helmets manufactured in February 2017.
Wearing a motorcycle helmet that does not meet DOT standards may, in the event of an accident, expose the user to an increased risk of personal injury or death. A consumer that has a Trooper helmet subject to this recall should stop using the helmet.
BADASS Helmet Company is recalling Trooper helmets manufactured in February 2017 and sold between May 2017 and June 2018. BADASS Helmet Company will exchange the helmets subject to this recall for free. Trooper helmets subject to this recall will have a DOT certification sticker with the model number โTR 001.6โ below the company identification BADASS.

This notice is being sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. BADASS Helmet Company, has decided that the Trooper model helmet failed to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 218, “Motor Cycle Helmets.โ This recall applies only to Trooper helmets manufactured in February 2017.
BADASS is recalling its Trooper Helmet because during routine follow up testing conducted by the Department of Transportation, sample helmets failed to meet the required performance standard for at least one of the following test conditions: (S7.1) impact attenuation; (S7.2) penetration; or (S7.3) retention system. Wearing a motorcycle helmet that does not meet DOT performance standards may, in the event of an accident, expose the user to an increased risk of personal injury or death. A consumer that has a Trooper helmet subject to this recall should stop using and replace the helmet with one certified as compliant with FMVSS 218.
BADASS Helmet Company is recalling Trooper helmets manufactured in February 2017 and sold between February 2017 and June 2018. BADASS Helmet Company is offering a product exchange for helmets subject to this recall. Trooper helmets subject to this recall will have a DOT certification sticker with the model number โTR 001.6โ below the company identification BADASS.
What you should do: If you still have any of the above helmets in your inventory, STOP SELLING THEM IMMEDIATELY and call 1-866-334-3563 or contact us at BADASS Helmets, P.O. Box 526, Royersford, PA 19468. It is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to delivery to a customer equipment covered by this notification. Once you contact us, we will arrange for a helmet exchange.
We also ask that you provide a copy of this notice to your customers who purchased one of the effected helmets identified above. If so, your customers should STOP USING THE HELMET IMMEDIATELY and contact us using the above telephone number or address. They should tehn provide to us the following information:
