This damage is noticeable immediately upon connecting the product to power before installation and is limited to two specific production lots identifiable by serial number/date code. Any unit not affected works as intended/expected. Production Dates : MAY 15, 2023 – JUL 14, 2023 Description of Noncompliance : Description of the Noncompliance : For certain units of the Kenway 17 in. LED Rear Tri-Marker Bar Running Lights (SKU 59657) manufactured during specific production dates, the machine process used for packaging damaged the LEDs in the product, causing them not to illuminate. For affected lamps, this damage is immediately noticeable upon connecting the product to power before installation. FMVSS 1 : 108 – Lamps, reflective devices, and assoc. Equipment FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : In affected units, not all of the LEDs illuminate when powered. Description of the Cause : The packaging process for the Kenway 17 in. LED Rear Tri-Marker Bar Running Light (SKU 59657) generated high frequencies. The Harbor Freight Quality Assurance team noted customer returns and reviews indicating the LEDs were not illuminating. The Quality Assurance team conducted an inspection and determined that certain units, all within the same two production lots, exhibited this non-compliance and investigated the manufacturer’s processes where they learned of the issue with the machining process for the packaging. Only products bearing the serial numbers 372382320 or 372382328 need to be checked for this possible non-compliance. All customers who purchased the product will be contacted and instructed to check the serial number located on the product. If they have an affected serial number, they will be further instructed to attach the running bar to power and confirm if all of the LEDs illuminate. If all of the LEDs illuminate, they may continue to use their product because it is not an affected unit. If one or more of the LEDs do not illuminate, they will be instructed to return the product to their local Harbor Freight Tools to exchange for another unit. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : All products contain a serial number on the bar. Only products bearing the serial number 372382320 or 372382328 need to be checked for this possible non-compliance. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The manufacturer stopped using the packaging assembly machine that was generating the high frequency and switched to an alternate packaging machine which does not generate the high frequency.
