Summary
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Freightliner
Cascadia vehicles equipped with a certain 40K Light Weight Extra Duty Airliner suspension and 51 inch axle spacing configuration. The brake airlines may be damaged due to inadequate clearance between the ride height control valve and the brake airlines.
Remedy
DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will install a new bracket for the height control valve to add additional clearance for the brake airlines, free of charge. The recall began September 16, 2019. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA’s number for this recall is FL-820.

General Information
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA), on behalf of its Freightliner
Trucks Division, has decided that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists on the vehicles mentioned above.
There are approximately 190 vehicles involved in this campaign.
On certain vehicles, the clearance between the ride height control valve linkage and brake airlines may not be adequate and could lead to contact and chafing of the brake airline. Chafing of the brake airline may lead to an airline leak that may be undetectable during pre-trip inspection and could cause significant damage to the airline, potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
A bracket will be installed to relocate the height control valve, located on the inside of the right hand frame rail just rear of the forward drive axle, for increased clearance to the brake airline. The airlines will be inspected and replaced as needed. Repairs will be performed by Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facilities.
Additional Repairs
Dealers must complete all outstanding Recall and Field Service campaigns prior to the sale or delivery of a vehicle. A Dealer will be liable for any progressive damage that results from its failure to complete campaigns before sale or delivery of a vehicle.
Owners may be liable for any progressive damage that results from failure to complete campaigns within a reasonable time after receiving notification.

IMPORTANT: When the Recall has been completed, locate the base completion label in the appropriate location on the vehicle, and attach the red completion sticker provided in the recall kit (Form WAR260). If the vehicle does not have a base completion label, clean a spot on the appropriate location of the vehicle and first attach the base completion label (Form WAR259). If a recall kit is not required or there is no completion sticker in the kit, write the recall number on a blank sticker and attach it to the base completion label.
Claims for Credit
You will be reimbursed for your parts, labor, and handling (landed cost for Export Distributors) by submitting your claim through the Warranty system within 30 days of completing this campaign. Please reference the following information in OWL:
- Claim type is Recall Campaign.
- In the Campaign field, enter the campaign number and appropriate condition code (FL820-A).
- In the Primary Failed Part Number field, enter 25-FL820-000.
- In the Parts field, enter the appropriate part number(s) as shown in the Replacement Parts Table.
- In the Labor field, first enter the appropriate SRT from the Labor Allowance Table. Administrative time will be included automatically as SRT 939-6010A for 0.3 hours.
- The VMRS Component Code is F99-999-005 and the Cause Code is A1 – Campaign.
- U.S. and Canada — Reimbursement for Prior Repairs. When a customer asks about reimbursement, please do the following:
- Accept the documentation of the previous repair.
- Make a brief check of the customerโs paperwork to see if the repair may be eligible for reimbursement. (See the “Copy of Owner Letter” section of this bulletin for reimbursement guidelines.)
- Submit an OWL Recall Pre-Approval Request for a decision.
- Include the approved amount on your claim in the Other Charges section.
- Attach the documentation to the pre-approval request.
- If approved, submit a based on claim for the pre-approval.
- Reimburse the customer the appropriate amount.
IMPORTANT: OWL must be viewed prior to performing the recall to ensure the vehicle is involved and the campaign has not been previously completed. Also, check for a completion sticker prior to beginning work.

Please note that the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, as amended (Title 49, United States Code, Chapter 301), requires the ownerโs vehicle(s) be corrected within a reasonable time after parts are available to you. The Act states that failure to repair a vehicle within 60 days after tender for repair shall be prima facie evidence of an unreasonable time. However, circumstances of a particular situation may reduce the 60 day period. Failure to repair a vehicle within a reasonable time can result in either the obligation to (a) replace the vehicle with an identical or reasonably equivalent vehicle, without charge, or (b) refund the purchase price in full, less a reasonable allowance for depreciation. The Act further prohibits dealers from selling a vehicle unless all outstanding recalls are performed. Any lessor is required to send a copy of the recall notification to the lessee within 10 days. Subject: Airliner Suspension Brake Line Clearance
Models Affected: Specific Model Year 2019-2020 Cascadia vehicles manufactured June 13, 2018, through July 15, 2019, and equipped with a certain 40K Light Weight Extra Duty Airliner suspension and 51 inch axle spacing configuration.
Height Control Valve Bracket Replacement
- Check the base label (Form WAR259) for a completion sticker for FL820 (Form WAR260) indicating this work has been done. The base label is usually located on the passenger-side door about 12 inches (30 cm) below the door latch. If a completion sticker is present, no work is needed. If a completion sticker is not present, continue with the next step.
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, put the transmission in neutral. Build the system air pressure to at least 100 Psi (690 Kpa). Shut down the engine, and set the parking brake.
- Chock the tires.
- Release the park brake.
- Drain all air from the air tanks.
- Locate the shock absorber on the right hand frame rail at the forward drive axle. Remove the hexnut, hexbolt, and hardened washers from the shock-absorber lower mounting bracket.
- Remove the nut, upper retainer and upper bushing from the top of the shock absorber, then pull the shock absorber out of the upper mounting bracket.
- Locate the airliner height control valve on the inside of the right hand frame rail just rear of the forward drive axle.
- Remove any zip ties from air lines or the valve that may restrict removal of the height control valve from the valve mounting bracket.
- Remove the nut and washer that attaches the vertical linkage to the lower clip on the axle housing. See Fig. 1

NOTICE
When removing or loosening a Barksdale height control valve from a mounting bracket, always hold the valve-side mounting studs in place with an Allen wrench while loosening or tightening the nuts that attach the valve to the bracket. Because the mounting studs are threaded into the valve body, loosening the nuts without holding the studs can tighten the studs, which can crush the valve body and damage the valve. Conversely, tightening the nuts without holding the studs can back the studs out, causing a separation of the two halves of the valve body, and possibly a leak.
- While holding the height control valve mounting studs in place with an Allen wrench, remove the nuts and washers that attach the valve to the mounting bracket. Remove the height control valve from the bracket.
- Remove the three M16 fasteners that hold the shock bracket and existing height control valve bracket. Remove the height control valve bracket from inside of the frame rail and discard.
- Install the existing shock bracket and new replacement height control valve bracket P/N 16-20393-000. Tighten the M16 fasteners 128 lbfยทft (174 Nยทm).
- Position the height control valve on the new height control valve bracket. While holding the height control valve mounting studs in place with an Allen wrench, install the nuts and washers, and tighten the nuts 95 lbfยทin (1100 Nยทcm). See Fig. 2. Do not overtighten.

- Install zip ties on the air lines and height control valve.
- Install the shock absorber. At the lower mounting, make sure the longer section of the sleeve is facing inboard. See Fig. 4.
- Tighten the shock-absorber mounting hexnuts 128 lbfยทft (174 Nยทm).

- Inspect the brake airlines just rear of the height control valve linkage. If there is any indication that the linkage has rubbed/abraded the brake air lines, replace the airlines. See Fig. 5.

- Start the engine and build the system air pressure to at least 100 Psi (690 kpa). Shut down the engine.
- Inspect the brake airlines and height control valve for any air leaks and repair as required.
- Measure the suspension ride height on the same side the height control valve is mounted. See Fig. 6.
- If the suspension ride height measures 111mm +/- 6mm (4.37″ +/- 0.25″), the suspension ride height is within the specification.
- If the suspension ride height is not within this range, follow Ride Height Adjustment procedure.

- Disconnect the height control valve linkage at the lever stud.
- If the ride height is not correct, lift or lower the valve lever to adjust the height until it is at the proper ride height.
- Pin the lever in neutral position with a 5/32-inch drill bit or nylon rod to lock the lever in neutral position. See Fig. 7. and Fig. 8.

NOTICE

- Adjust the position of the valve body until the lever still pinned in neutral position can connect to the linkage. Attach the linkage. The linkage rod should be vertical, and the valve body should now be in the correct position for the vehicleโs ride height.
- While holding the height control valve mounting studs in place with an Allen wrench, tighten the nuts 95 lbfยทin (1100 Nยทcm). Do not overtighten, as that could damage the valve. (For dual valves, tighten both.)
- Remove the pin or drill bit holding the height control lever in neutral position.
- Drive the vehicle unloaded for about 1/4 mile (1/2 km), then park the vehicle on a level surface using a light brake application. Set the park brake and chock the tires
- Check the ride height of the vehicle again, measuring where indicated in the drawing or figure for the suspension.
- If the distance is within the acceptable range, the ride height is correctly set, continue to step 12.
- If the distance is not within the acceptable range, repeat the ride height adjustment procedure.
- Clean a spot on the base label (Form WAR259), write recall number FL820 on a blank red completion sticker (Form WAR260), and attach it to the base label.

Describe the defect or noncompliance:
On certain vehicles, the clearance between the ride height control valve and brake airlines may not be
adequate. Articulation of the ride height control valve linkage in conjunction with the relative motion of
the vehicle chassis could lead to contact between the brake airline and the linkage, leading to chafing of
the brake airline.
Describe the safety risk:
Chafing of the brake airline may lead to an airline leak that may be undetectable during pre-trip
inspection and could lead to significant damage to the airline. A significantly damaged brake airline may
potentially result in reduced brake effectiveness, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Chronology of Defect/ Noncompliance Determination
Provide the chronology of events leading up to the defect decision or test data for the
noncompliance decision.:
Late June 2019, DTNA received a field report of a vehicle with a brake airline rubbing on the linkage of
the height control valve. Early July 2019, DTNA began an investigation on the issue by inspecting vehicles
at the plant, and reviewing the design clearance, warranty and customer complaints. 13 warranty claims
showed operators experienced an audible air leak during brake service application from a chaffed airline.

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA), en nombre de su divisiรณn Camiones Freightliner
, ha decidido que

Existen aproximadamente 190 vehรญculos involucrados en esta campaรฑa.
En algunos vehรญculos, la separaciรณn entre la uniรณn de la vรกlvula de control de altura de la carrocerรญa y las

Reemplazo del soporte de la vรกlvula de control de altura
1. Aparque el vehรญculo en una superficie nivelada, apague el motor y aplique los frenos de estacionamiento.
Bloquee las ruedas.
2. Corrobore la etiqueta base (Formulario WAR259) para verificar que se haya fijado la etiqueta de terminaciรณn
de la FL820 (Formulario WAR260) para indicar que se realizรณ el trabajo. La etiqueta base se sitรบa,
por lo general, en la puerta del pasajero, a 12 pulgadas (30 cm) debajo de la cerradura de la puerta. Si hay
una etiqueta adhesiva de terminaciรณn, no es necesario el trabajo. Si no hay una etiqueta de terminaciรณn,
continรบe con el siguiente paso.
3. Arranque el motor, ponga la transmisiรณn en neutro. Acumule presiรณn de aire en el sistema por lo menos a
100 Psi (690 Kpa). Apague el motor y ponga el freno de mano.
4. Bloquee las ruedas.
5. Suelte el freno de mano.
6. Drene todo el aire de los tanques de aire.
7. Coloque el amortiguador en el riel derecho del bastidor en el eje motriz delantero. Retire la tuerca hexagonal,
el perno hexagonal y las arandelas endurecidas del soporte de montaje inferior del amortiguador.
8. Retire la tuerca, el retenedor superior y el buje superior de la parte superior del amortiguador y, a continuaciรณn,
extraiga el amortiguador del soporte de montaje superior.
9. Localice la vรกlvula de control de altura de la lรญnea de aire en el interior del riel derecho del bastidor, justo
detrรกs del eje motriz delantero.
10. Quite cualquier correa de cremallera de plรกstico de las lรญneas de aire o de la vรกlvula que pueda restringir la
extracciรณn de la vรกlvula de control de altura del soporte de montaje de la vรกlvula.
11. Retire la tuerca y la arandela que sujeta la uniรณn vertical al sujetador inferior en la carcasa del eje. Vea la
Figura1
NOTICE
Al aflojar o retirar una vรกlvula de control de altura de Barksdale de un soporte de montaje, siempre retenga
los pernos de montaje del lado de la vรกlvula en su lugar con una llave Allen mientras afloja o
aprieta las tuercas que unen la vรกlvula al soporte. Debido a que los pernos de montaje estรกn roscados
en el cuerpo de la vรกlvula, aflojar las tuercas sin retener los pernos puede apretar los pernos, lo cual
puede aplastar el cuerpo de la vรกlvula y daรฑar la vรกlvula. En cambio, si se aprietan las tuercas sin retener
los pernos, puede hacerlos retroceder, causando una separaciรณn de las dos mitades del cuerpo
de la vรกlvula y, posiblemente, una fuga.
12. Mientras retiene los pernos de montaje de la vรกlvula de control de altura en su lugar con una llave Allen,
retire las tuercas y arandelas que fijan la vรกlvula al soporte de montaje. Retire la vรกlvulas de control de altura
del soporte.

13. Retire los dos elementos de fijaciรณn M16 que sujetan el soporte de amortiguaciรณn y el soporte existente de
la vรกlvula de control de altura. Retire el soporte de la vรกlvula de control de altura del interior del riel del
bastidor y desรฉchelo.
14. Instale el soporte de amortiguador existente y el nuevo soporte de la vรกlvula de control de altura de reemplazo
nro. de pieza 16-20393-000. Apriete los elementos de fijaciรณn a un par de 128 lbfยทft (174 Nยทm).
15. Coloque la vรกlvula de control de altura en el nuevo soporte de la vรกlvula de control de altura. Mientras retiene
los pernos de montaje de la vรกlvula de control de altura en su lugar con una llave Allen, instale las
tuercas y arandelas y apriete las tuercas. 95 lbfยทin (1100 Nยทcm). Vea la Figura 2. No apriete demasiado.
16. Conecte la uniรณn vertical al sujetador inferior de la carcasa del eje como se muestra en la Figura 3.

21. Arranque el motor y acumule presiรณn de aire en el sistema por lo menos a 100 Psi (690 kpa). Apague el
motor.

3. Fije con pasador la palanca en posiciรณn neutra con una broca de 5/32 pulg o varilla de nailon para bloquear
la palanca en posiciรณn neutral. Vea la Figura 7. y la Figura 8.
NOTICE
Al aflojar una vรกlvula de control de altura de Barksdale de un soporte de montaje, siempre retenga los
pernos de montaje del lado de la vรกlvula en su lugar con una llave Allen mientras afloja o aprieta las
tuercas que unen la vรกlvula al soporte. Debido a que los pernos de montaje estรกn roscados en el cuerpo
de la vรกlvula, aflojar las tuercas sin retener los pernos puede apretar los pernos, lo cual puede
aplastar el cuerpo de la vรกlvula y daรฑar la vรกlvula. En cambio, si se aprietan las tuercas sin retener los
pernos, puede hacerlos retroceder, causando una separaciรณn de las dos mitades del cuerpo de la vรกlvula
y, posiblemente, una fuga.
4. Mientras retiene los pernos de montaje de la vรกlvula de control de altura en su lugar con una llave Allen,
afloje las tuercas que fijan la vรกlvula al soporte de montaje.
5. Ajuste la posiciรณn del cuerpo de la vรกlvula hasta que la palancaaรบn fija en la posiciรณn neutralse pueda
conectar a la uniรณn. Conecte el varillaje. La varilla de uniรณn debe estar vertical, y el cuerpo de la vรกlvula
debe estar ahora en la posiciรณn correcta para la altura de la carrocerรญa del vehรญculo.
6. Mientras sujeta los pernos de montaje de la vรกlvula de control de altura con una llave Allen, apriete las tuercas.
95 lbfยทin (1100 Nยทcm). No apriete demasiado, ya que ello podrรญa daรฑar la vรกlvula.
7. Retire el pasador o la broca que sujeta la palanca de control de altura en posiciรณn neutra.
8. Conduzca el vehรญculo sin carga durante aproximadamente 1/2 km (1/4 de milla), a continuaciรณn, estacione
el vehรญculo sobre una superficie nivelada aplicando levemente los frenos. Ponga el freno de mano y bloquee
las ruedas.
9. Suelte el freno de mano.
10. Compruebe de nuevo la altura de la carrocerรญa del vehรญculo, midiendo en el lugar indicado en el dibujo o la
figura de la suspensiรณn.
11. Si la distancia estรก dentro del rango aceptable, el ajuste de altura de la carrocerรญa es correcto.
12. Si la distancia no estรก dentro del rango aceptable, repita el procedimiento de ajuste.
13. Limpie un espacio en la etiqueta base (Formulario WAR259), escriba el nรบmero del llamado a reparaciรณn
FL820 en una etiqueta de terminaciรณn roja en blanco (Formulario WAR260), y adjรบntela a la etiqueta base.

Duty 40K et de certaines configurations dโespace pour lโessieu
de 51 pouces (129,5 cm).
Renseignements gรฉnรฉraux
Au nom de sa division de camions Freightliner, Daimler Trucks
North America LLC (DTNA) a dรฉterminรฉ quโune
dรฉfectuositรฉ reliรฉe ร la sรฉcuritรฉ des vรฉhicules ร moteur existe pour les vรฉhicules mentionnรฉs ci-dessus.
Cette campagne couvre environ 190 vรฉhicules.
Sur certains vรฉhicules, le dรฉgagement entre les conduits dโair de la timonerie de soupape de commande de
hauteur peut ne pas รชtre adรฉquat et peut provoquer un contact et un frottement du conduit dโair du frein. Le
frottement du conduit dโair du frein peut entraรฎner une fuite du conduit dโair potentiellement indรฉtectable lors de
lโinspection avant le dรฉpart et pourrait endommager sรฉrieusement le conduit dโair et rรฉduire lโefficacitรฉ de
freinage, ce qui augmenterait le risque de collision.
Un support sera installรฉ pour repositionner la soupape de contrรดle de la hauteur, situรฉe ร lโintรฉrieur du longeron
de cadre de chรขssis de droite, juste derriรจre lโessieu de marche avant, pour augmenter le dรฉgagement du
conduit dโair du frein. Les conduits dโair seront inspectรฉs et remplacรฉs au besoin. Les rรฉparations seront
effectuรฉes par les centres de rรฉparation et dโentretien Daimler Trucks North America autorisรฉs.

Instructions pour le travail ร effectuer
Objet : Dรฉgagement du conduit dโair du frein de suspension
Modรจles concernรฉs : Certains vรฉhicules Cascadia 2019-2020
construits entre le 13 juin 2018 et le 15 juillet 2019, รฉquipรฉs de
certains systรจmes de suspension ร conduits dโair lรฉgers Extra
Duty 40K et de certaines configurations dโespace pour lโessieu
de 51 pouces (129,5 cm).
Remplacement du support de la soupape de commande de
hauteur
1. Garez le vรฉhicule sur une surface uniforme, serrez le frein de stationnement et coupez le moteur. Calez les
roues.
2. Vรฉrifiez lโรฉtiquette de base (formulaire WAR259) pour voir si elle comporte un autocollant de parachรจvement
(formulaire WAR260) pour le rappel FL820 indiquant que ce travail a dรฉjร รฉtรฉ effectuรฉ. Lโรฉtiquette de
base est gรฉnรฉralement placรฉe sur la portiรจre du cรดtรฉ passager, ร environ 30 cm (12 po) en dessous du loquet
de portiรจre. Si un autocollant de parachรจvement est prรฉsent, aucun travail nโest requis. Si aucun autocollant
de parachรจvement nโest prรฉsent, passez ร lโรฉtape suivante.
3. Mettez le moteur en marche, mettez la transmission au point mort. Faites monter la pression dโair ร au
moins 100 psi (690 kPa). Coupez le moteur et engagez le frein de stationnement.
4. Calez les roues.
5. Desserrez le frein de stationnement.
6. Purgez tout lโair des rรฉservoirs dโair comprimรฉ.
7. Repรฉrez lโamortisseur sur le longeron de cadre de chรขssis de droite sur lโessieu avant. Enlevez lโรฉcrou hexagonal,
le boulon hexagonal et les rondelles trempรฉes du support de montage infรฉrieur de lโamortisseur.
8. Retirez lโรฉcrou, le support supรฉrieur et la douille supรฉrieure du dessus de lโamortisseur, puis tirez
lโamortisseur pour le faire sortir du support de montage supรฉrieur.
9. Repรฉrez la soupape de contrรดle de la hauteur ร conduit dโair ร lโintรฉrieur du longeron de cadre de chรขssis
de droite, juste derriรจre lโessieu avant.
10. Retirez tous les serre-cรขbles des conduits dโair ou la soupape qui pourrait empรชcher lโextraction de la soupape
de contrรดle de la hauteur du support de montage de la soupape.
11. Retirez lโรฉcrou et la rondelle qui fixent la timonerie verticale ร lโagrafe infรฉrieure du carter de pont.
Reportez-vous ร la figure 1.
NOTICE
En retirant ou en desserrant une soupape Barksdale de contrรดle de hauteur ร partir dโun support de
montage, toujours maintenir en place les goujons de fixation du cรดtรฉ soupape avec une clรฉ Allen tout
en desserrant ou en serrant les รฉcrous qui fixent la soupape sur le support. Du fait que les goujons de
fixation sont vissรฉs dans le corps de soupape, desserrer les รฉcrous sans tenir les goujons peut serrer
les goujons, ce qui peut รฉcraser le corps de soupape et endommager la soupape. ร lโinverse, serrer les
รฉcrous sans tenir les goujons peut faire sortir les goujons, provoquant une sรฉparation des deux moitiรฉs
du corps de soupape, et possiblement une fuite.

12. Tout en maintenant en place les goujons de fixation de la soupape de contrรดle de hauteur avec une clรฉ Allen,
retirez les รฉcrous et les rondelles qui fixent la soupape au support de fixation. Retirez la soupape de
contrรดle de la hauteur du support.
13. Retirez les deux piรจces de fixation M16 qui retiennent le support dโamortisseur et le support de la soupape
de contrรดle de la hauteur en place. Retirez le support de soupape de contrรดle de la hauteur de lโintรฉrieur du
longeron de cadre de chรขssis et mettez-le au rebut.
14. Installez le support dโamortisseur existant et le nouveau support de soupape de contrรดle de la hauteur P/N
16-20393-000. Serrez les attaches M16 au couple de 174 Nยทm (128 lbfยทpi).

17. Installez les serre-cรขbles sur les conduits dโair et la soupape de contrรดle de la hauteur.
18. Installez lโamortisseur. Sur le support infรฉrieur, assurez-vous que la section la plus longue du manchon est
tournรฉe vers lโintรฉrieur. Reportez-vous ร la figure 4.

19. Serrez les boulons hexagonaux de lโamortisseur ร un couple de 174 Nยทm (128 lbfยทpi).
20. Inspectez les conduits dโair du frein juste derriรจre la timonerie de soupape de commande de hauteur. Si
vous dรฉcelez toute indication que la timonerie a frottรฉ ou usรฉ les conduits dโair du frein, remplacez les conduits
dโair. Reportez-vous ร la figure 5.

REMARQUE : On prรฉvoit que moins de 10 pour cent des vรฉhicules exigeront un remplacement.
21. Lancez le moteur et faites monter la pression dโair ร au moins 100 psi (690 kPa). Coupez le moteur.
22. Inspectez les conduits dโair et la soupape de contrรดle de la hauteur pour dรฉtecter toute fuite et effectuer les
rรฉparations nรฉcessaires.
23. Mesurez la hauteur de caisse de la suspension du cรดtรฉ opposรฉ ร la soupape de contrรดle de la hauteur.
Reportez-vous ร la figure 6.
โข Si la hauteur de caisse de la suspension est รฉgale ร 111 mm +/- 6 mm (4,37 po +/- 0,25 po), elle respecte
les spรฉcifications.
โข Si la hauteur de caisse de la suspension ne correspond pas ร ces mesures, suivez la procรฉdure de
rรฉglage de la hauteur de caisse.

Rรฉglage de la hauteur de caisse
1. Dรฉconnectez le couplage de la soupape de commande de hauteur au niveau du goujon du levier.
2. Si la hauteur de caisse nโest pas adรฉquate, soulevez ou abaissez le levier de la soupape pour rรฉgler la
hauteur jusquโร atteindre la hauteur de caisse adรฉquate.
3. Goupillez le levier en position neutre avec une mรจche de 5/32 po ou une tige en nylon pour verrouiller le
levier en position neutre. Reportez-vous ร la figure 7 et la figure 8.

NOTICE
En desserrant une soupape Barksdale de contrรดle de hauteur ร partir dโun support de montage, toujours
maintenir en place les goujons de fixation du cรดtรฉ soupape avec une clรฉ Allen tout en desserrant
ou en serrant les รฉcrous qui fixent la soupape sur le support. Du fait que les goujons de fixation sont
vissรฉs dans le corps de soupape, desserrer les รฉcrous sans tenir les goujons peut serrer les goujons,
ce qui peut รฉcraser le corps de soupape et endommager la soupape. ร lโinverse, serrer les รฉcrous sans
tenir les goujons peut faire sortir les goujons, provoquant une sรฉparation des deux moitiรฉs du corps de
soupape, et possiblement une fuite.
4. Tout en maintenant en place les goujons de fixation de la soupape de contrรดle de hauteur avec une clรฉ Allen,
desserrez les รฉcrous qui fixent la soupape au support de fixation.
5. Ajustez la position du corps de soupape jusquโร ce que le levier encore goupillรฉ en position neutre puisse
se connecter au couplage. Fixez le couplage. La tige de couplage doit รชtre verticale, et le corps de soupape
doit maintenant รชtre dans la position correcte pour la hauteur de caisse du vรฉhicule.
6. Tout en tenant les goujons de fixation de la soupape de contrรดle de hauteur en place avec une clรฉ Allen,
serrez les รฉcrous ร un couple de 1100 Nยทcm (95 lbfยทpo). Ne pas trop serrer, car cela pourrait endommager
la soupape.
7. Retirez la goupille ou la mรจche qui maintient le levier de commande de la hauteur en position neutre.
8. Conduisez le vรฉhicule ร vide pendant environ 1/4 de mile (1/2 km), puis garez le vรฉhicule sur une surface
plane en appliquant le frein lรฉgรจrement. Appliquez le frein de stationnement et calez les pneus.

9. Desserrez le frein de stationnement.
10. Vรฉrifiez ร nouveau la hauteur de caisse du vรฉhicule en mesurant la suspension aux endroits indiquรฉs sur le
schรฉma ou la figure.
11. Si la distance est dans la fourchette acceptable, la hauteur de caisse est correctement rรฉglรฉe.
12. Si la distance nโest pas dans la fourchette acceptable, rรฉpรฉtez la procรฉdure dโajustement.
13. Nettoyez un espace sur lโรฉtiquette de base (formulaire WAR259), inscrivez-y le numรฉro de rappel FL820 sur
un autocollant de parachรจvement vierge (formulaire WAR260) et apposez-le sur lโรฉtiquette de base.
