Incorrect Bolt Lengths for Rotating Pin Box
When the pin box is unlocked, the incorrect length bolts may allow the rotating pin box to rotate in two places, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Eagle HT fifth wheel trailers equipped with MORyde Orbital or You Turn Rubber Pin Box Wedge Kits. The pin boxes may have been equipped with bolts 1-3/4″ in length when they should be equipped with 2″ long bolts.
Remedy
Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the bolts and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on September 18, 2019. Owners may contact MORyde customer service at 1-574-293-1581 or Jayco at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9901435.

IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE
RECALL INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Perform the following steps on one bolt at a time, so that if the wedge is installed in the rotation position, it can maintain that position without having to follow the wedge installation instructions in the owner’s manual. When a bolt is removed, inspected and the length determined incorrect, the following repair instructions are required.
STEP 1:
Using the breaker bar and the 15/16” socket, loosen one of the bolts that hold the wedge in place. Remove the bolt and verify it is the proper length. Orbital Rotating Rubber Pin Box uses two 2” bolts and one 1-1/4”
LOCKOUT PROCEDURE:
Lockout procedure is only required if the unit is in the rear rotation transport position AND the dealer performing the recall does NOT have the necessary bolts to replace the incorrect bolts that are installed on their wedge.
The wedge stored in the Orbital Rotating Rubber Pin Box with 3 bolts installed (two 2” and one 1-1/4”)
The wedge in the Orbital Rotating Rubber Pin Box with 2 bolts installed (2” and 1-1/4”). The 3rd bolt (2”) is located in the storage location and needs to be checked as well. Do not confuse it with the two 1-1/2” lockout bolts which are also in the storage location.
The wedge in use in the alternate orientation of the Orbital Rotating Rubber Pin Box with two 2” bolts installed. The 3rd bolt (1-1/4”) is in the storage location and needs to be checked as well. Do not confuse it with the 2 lockout bolts (1-1/2”) which are also in the storage location.
STEP 2a
If the bolt that was removed in Step 1 was correct, Reinstall the bolt and torque to 200 ft-lbs. Continue to Step 3.
STEP 2b
If the bolt that was removed in Step 1 was Incorrect, replace it with the correct bolt from Parts kit and torque to 200 ft-lbs.
STEP 3
Repeat Steps 1 & 2 for both the remaining bolts. (Total bolts to inspect is 3)

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Jayco has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exits in certain Model Year 2019 2020 Eagle HT Fifth Wheels manufactured with the optional MorRyde Orbital Pin Box.
| Reason for this | The bolts that hold the wedge to the pin box may be incorrect length. When the pin box is unlocked and allowed to rotate with incorrect length bolts, the wedge may disconnect from the pin box. This could allow the rotating pin box to pivot in two places and the RV could contact the tow vehicle increasing the risk of a crash. |
| Recall Remedy | Remove and inspect each wedge bolt ( 3 bolts) to confirm correct length. Reinstall the correct length bolts and torque at 200 ft. lbs; and when required, replace incorrect length bolts with correct length bolts torquing each bolt to 200 ft lbs. |
| What we need you to do immediately | Please contact an authorized Dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment to have this remedy completed free of charge. The recall remedy will take approximately thirty minutes. |
If you had this repair completed prior to receipt of this recall notice, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy of the problem associated with this recall.
