Summary
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Freightliner
114SD, 108SD, and Business Class M2 vehicles. The engine harness wires may chafe at various locations around the air compressor and the frame rail. The damaged wires may short causing the engine to stall without any prior warning.
Remedy
DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for adequate harness clearance and verify that the harness has not been damaged. Vehicles with a damaged harness will receive a new harness that consists of a severe duty wrapping and additional hardware. All repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began October 28, 2020. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA’s number for this recall is FL-860.

General Information
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA), on behalf of its Freightliner
Trucks Division, has decided that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists on the vehicles mentioned above.
On certain vehicles, the engine harness may contact and chafe at various locations around the air compressor and the frame rail. If the wires are damaged and short, under certain circumstances the engine may stall without any warning, with no ability to restart, which may increase the risk of a crash.
Engine harnesses will be inspected for damage, and adequate clearance, and repaired as required. (Less than 1% of vehicles are expected to need the harness replaced.)
There are approximately 10,904 vehicles involved in this campaign.
REVISION: The torque value on step 2.3 of page 13 of the work instructions has been updated.
Additional Repairs
Dealers must complete all outstanding Recall and Field Service campaigns prior to the sale or delivery of a vehicle. A Dealer will be liable for any progressive damage that results from its failure to complete campaigns before sale or delivery of a vehicle.

IMPORTANT: When the Recall has been completed, locate the base completion label in the appropriate location on the vehicle, and attach the red completion sticker provided in the recall kit (Form WAR260). If the vehicle does not have a base completion label, clean a spot on the appropriate location of the vehicle and first attach the base completion label (Form WAR259). You will be reimbursed for your parts, labor, and handling (landed cost for Export Distributors) by submitting your claim through the Warranty system within 30 days of completing this campaign. Please reference the following information in OWL:

- In the Primary Failed Part Number field, enter 25-FL860-000.
- In the Parts field, enter the appropriate kit as shown in the Replacement Parts Table.
- In the Labor field, first enter the appropriate SRT from the Labor Allowance Table. Administrative time will be included automatically as SRT 939-6010A for 0.3 hours.
- The VMRS Component Code is F99-999-005 and the Cause Code is A1 – Campaign.

Please note that the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, as amended (Title 49, United States Code, Chapter 301), requires the ownerโs vehicle(s) be corrected within a reasonable time after parts are available to you. The Act states that failure to repair a vehicle within 60 days after tender for repair shall be prima facie evidence of an unreasonable time. However, circumstances of a particular situation may reduce the 60 day period. Failure to repair a vehicle within a reasonable time can result in either the obligation to (a) replace the vehicle with an identical or reasonably equivalent vehicle, without charge, or (b) refund the purchase price in full, less a reasonable allowance for depreciation. The Act further prohibits dealers from selling a vehicle unless all outstanding recalls are performed. Any lessor is required to send a copy of the recall notification to the lessee within 10 days. Reimbursement to Customers for Repairs Performed Prior to Recall
If you have already paid to have this recall condition corrected you may be eligible to receive reimbursement.
Requests for reimbursement may include parts and labor. Reimbursement may be limited to the amount the repair would have cost if completed by an authorized Daimler Trucks North America LLC dealer. The following documentation must be presented to your dealer for consideration for reimbursement.

Engine Harness Clearance
Models Affected: Specific Model Year 2018-2021 Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, and Business Class M2 vehicles manufactured May 24, 2017, through August 26, 2020, and equipped with a Detroit Diesel DD8 engine.
DD8 Engine Harness Repair – All Vehicles
On affected vehicles, DD8 engine harnesses are chafing against several locations: at and around the air compressor, the edges of the engine harness bracket, and at the engine power steering pump and frame rail. This chafing results in circuits shorting out. Depending on which wires are chafed, the symptoms can include: dash lights flashing, gauges dropping in and out, and/or sweeping intermittently, the check engine light coming on, loss of power, transmission shifting issues, and engine shutdown/stall with no restart.
REVISION: The torque value on step 2.3 of page 13 of the work instructions has been updated.
1. Check the base label (Form WAR259) for a completion sticker for FL860 (Form WAR260) indicating this work has been done. The base label is usually located on the passenger-side door, about 12 inches (30 cm) below the door latch. If a completion sticker is present, no work is needed. If a completion sticker is not present, continue with the next step.
2. Park the vehicle on a level surface, turning the steering wheel hard to the right for repair access. Shut down the engine and set the parking brake. Chock the tires.
3. Open the hood.
4. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
5. Remove the left bumper end cap by removing the fasteners.
6. Remove the left front quarter fender. Using a suitable tether as support (rope, bungee, tie strap, etc.), tie the Power Train Power Distribution Module (PTPDM) and main Power Distribution Module (PDM) to the front-wall hood support to prevent damage to the harness and connecters.
7. To gain access to the complete DD8 engine harness to enable inspection of all key chaffing points, cut the tie straps that secure the engine harness. See Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. Key DD8 engine harness chaffing points include:
- the air compressor
- the air compressor mounted bracket
- the air compressor discharge line
- the fuel lines
- the transmission dipstick tube
- the power steering pump
- the frame rail
8. If necessary to access the engine harness for inspection, remove the transmission dipstick tube brackets, fuel line brackets, and clipping points for the airline bundle.
9. Inspect the engine harness for damage at the key chaffing points. Pull the harness away from the brackets to make a complete inspection, using a mirror as needed. See Fig. 3.
NOTE: Wiring harnesses are considered damaged when chaffing has worn through the fiber wrap and wire insulation to expose strands of wire copper.
IMPORTANT: Do not use a hook razor blade to cut the fiber harness wrap. Use a sewing seam ripper (see Fig. 4), and take care not to cut the harness wires.
10. If damage to the wiring is found, cut and unwrap the harness wrap in the damaged area to determine the extent of damage. See Fig. 5.
- If five or fewer wires (approximately 30% or less) in the harness are damaged, the harness can be repaired.
- If more than five wires in the harness are damaged, the harness must be replaced.
IMPORTANT: It is expected that less than 1% of harnesses will need to be replaced. When needed, use PartsProยฎ (module 487) or EZWiringโข to locate the correct VIN specific engine harness. Using EZWiring, enter the serial number under โVehicle Information/Location search,” then select “Commodity Harness” under “System Options.” For assistance in engine harness replacement, submit a WSC ticket to Warranty Campaigns.
NOTE: Additional harness clipping points and harness connectors may need to be removed to provide access to repair the wiring harness.
11. Repair damaged wiring as follows.
11.1 Locate the damaged area and carefully cut open the fiber wrap using a sewing seam ripper tool. See Fig. 4.
11.2 Flip the seam ripper tool over so that the blunt end is facing the wiring, then cut enough length to allow the fiber wrap to be unwrapped. See Fig. 5.
11.3 Unwrap the fiber wrap until a sufficient area is exposed to make the repair. See Fig. 6.
11.4 Cut out the damaged section of the wire.
11.5 Inspect the harness and ensure there is enough slack in the wire to install a Phillips STA-DRYยฎ connector. See Table 3 to determine the correct size of Phillips STA-DRY connector to use.

11.6 If the wire does not have enough slack to install a Phillips STA-DRY connector, add a new section of overlay wire using two Phillips STA-DRY connectors. If an overlay wire is necessary, remove the fiber to allow for a splice into the damaged wire. See Fig. 7. Make sure the overlay wire is the same gauge and quality as the wire being repaired.
11.7 Crimp the Phillips STA-DRY connector on the repaired wires using tool DKIOCHA17003-2 or similar. Use a heat gun to apply the solder and heat shrink the Phillips STA-DRY connectors. See Fig. 8.
IMPORTANT: No more than five wires on the engine harness should be repaired. This includes up to five sections of overlay wires. Multiple wire repairs should be staggered using varying length overlay wires in order to keep the overall engine harness size to a minimum.
11.8 Wrap the entire length of repaired area with new fiber wrap tape (part number 48-25910-003). Make sure to use enough tape to overlap the starting point.
11.9 Secure both ends of the fiber wrap with electrical tape.
11.10 Install any clipping points and connectors removed to make the repair.
12. Wrap the harness at the key chaffing points with severe duty harness wrap (TwistTubeยฎ) for added protection.
13. Add TwistTube to the engine harness at the air compressor bracket area. Use the measurements provided in Fig. 9, Fig. 10, Fig. 11, and Fig. 12.
Add TwistTube over the first 8 inches (203 mm) of the horizontal section ahead of the vertical section (see Fig. 9) and over the first 18 inches (457 mm) behind the vertical section (see Fig. 10). There will be a total of 26 inches (660 mm) of added TwistTube. See Fig. 11.
Add TwistTube over 12 inches (304 mm) of the vertical section, starting at the horizontal section juncture. See Fig. 12.
Secure the loose ends of the TwistTube with electrical tape or tie straps.
Air Compressor Mounted Stand-Off Bracket Replacement for FL860A
REVISION: The torque value on step 2.3 of page 13 of the work instructions has been updated.
1. Replace the existing air compressor-mounted bracket (see Fig. 13) with the one supplied in the kit (part number 66-13326-000). See Fig. 14.
1.1 Remove the two fasteners securing the old bracket to the air compressor and remove the bracket.
1.2 Install the new bracket (part number 66-13326-000) then torque the fasteners 27 to 32 lbfยทft (36 to 43 N-m).
1.3 To provide additional clearance for the horizontal section of harness on the new bracket, install a nylon spacer (part number 23-12262-001) under the fir tree fastener with tie strap (part number 23-14137-000). See Fig. 15.
1.4 To secure the vertical section of the harness on the new bracket, install fir tree fasteners with tie straps (part number 23-14137-001) in the two holes. See Fig. 15.
2. Remove the existing standoff bracket and install the two new brackets.
2.1 Remove the existing standoff bracket bolted to the top of air compressor. See Fig. 16.
2.2 Install the new brackets onto the top of air compressor where existing standoff was removed. See Fig. 17. Install the parts in the following order:
- washer (part number 23-09114-011)
- standoff bracket (part number 23-09130-017)

- standoff bracket (part number 23-13516-001)
-
- M8 bolt (part number 23-13345-025).
2.3 Torque the fastener for the brackets to 11 lbfยทft (15 Nยทm).
3. Secure the engine harness to the standoff brackets. See Fig. 18.
3.1 Use two fir tree fastener tie straps (part number 23-14137-001) to secure the harness to the brackets; after installing tie straps make sure the harness is not contacting any part of the compressor.
Flywheel Standoff Bracket Replacement for FL860B
1. Replace the existing standoff bracket (see Fig. 19) at the left side of the flywheel housing with a new standoff bracket from the kit (part number 23-13514-021). See Fig. 20.
1.1 Install the bracket using the new washer (part number 23-09114-001) and the existing bolt and torque to 27 to 32 lbfยทft (36 to 43 Nยทm).
2. Use a tie strap (part number 23-14137-001) to secure the engine harness to the new standoff bracket at the flywheel housing.
Additional Work Instructions for FL860A and FL860B
1. Using the tie straps, secure the engine harness at all clipping points onto the air compressor-mounted bracket. Add additional TwistTube at any potential chaffing points. Use additional tie straps as needed to secure the harness.
2. Install front fuel line clamp and transmission dipstick tube clamp using the original clamps and fasteners.
3. Install the left bumper end cap.
4. Install the left front quarter fender, remove the tethers put in place to support the PTPDM and PDM, and attach the bracket for the main PDM and PTPDM.
5. Connect the battery negative cable.
6. Start and run the vehicle for a minute to verify the repair.
7. Close the hood.
8. Clean a spot on the base label (Form WAR259), write the recall number, FL860, on a red completion sticker (Form WAR260), and attach it to the base label, indicating this work has been completed.

Chronology of Defect / Noncompliance Determination
Provide the chronology of events leading up to the defect decision or test data for the noncompliance decision:
Late July 2020, DTNA received a field report that indicated one vehicle shutdown due to chafing at various locations on the engine harness. DTNA performed an initial warranty seek to identify any additional medium duty engine related claims. Early August 2020, DTNA initiated a further deeper dive warranty analysis, and began an extensive investigation to identify potential failure modes and field exposure. August 26, 2020, DTNA, with an abundance of caution, decided to initiate a voluntary safety recall to campaign certain vehicles equipped with a DD8 engine manufactured within the suspect build range. September 15, 2020, on review of production dates, the final bookend date was determined to be incorrect, and therefore DTNA adjusted the population and manufacturing dates to reflect the actual recall population.

Subject vehicles will be inspected for adequate clearance between harness and engine, and engine harness damage. Vehicles with damaged harness will receive a new harness that consists of a severe duty wrapping and additional hardware for routing purpose. On the affected vehicles, engine harness may contact and chafe at various locations around the air compressor and the frame rail. If the wires are damaged and shorted, under certain circumstances, the engine may stall without any prior warning, with no ability to restart.

Late July 2020, DTNA received a field report that indicated one vehicle shutdown due to chafing at various locations on the engine harness. DTNA performed an initial warranty seek to identify any additional medium duty engine related claims. Early August 2020, DTNA initiated a further deeper dive warranty analysis, and began an extensive investigation to identify potential failure modes and field exposure. August 26, 2020, DTNA, with an abundance of caution, decided to initiate a voluntary safety recall to campaign certain vehicles equipped with a DD8 engine manufactured within the suspect build range.
Identify the Remedy
Describe the defect/noncompliance remedy program, including the manufactureโs plan for reimbursement.
Subject vehicles will be inspected for adequate clearance between harness and engine, and engine harness damage. Vehicles with damaged harness will receive a new harness that consists of a severe duty wrapping and additional hardware for routing purpose. Customer notification will be done by first class mail using Daimler Trucks North America records to determine the customers affected. Copies of the reimbursement plan will be submitted as a supplemental report when available.

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA), en nombre de su divisiรณn Camiones Freightliner
, ha decidido que

Tema: Espacio libre del arnรฉs del motor
Freightliner
Modelos afectados: Vehรญculos especรญficos modelos 2018-2021
Freightliner 108SD, 114SD y Business Class M2 fabricados entre
el 24 de mayo de 2017 y el 26 de agosto de 2020, y equipados
un motor DD8.
Reparaciรณn del arnรฉs del motor DD8: Todos los vehรญculos
En los vehรญculos afectados, los arneses del motor DD8 estรกn rozando contra varias ubicaciones: en y alrededor
del compresor de aire, los bordes del soporte del arnรฉs del motor y en la bomba de la direcciรณn hidrรกulica del
motor y el riel del bastidor. Este roce da como resultado un cortocircuito en los circuitos. Dependiendo de los
cables que estรฉn experimentando el rozamiento, los sรญntomas pueden incluir: luces del tablero parpadeando,
medidores que suben y bajan, y/o se mueven de manera intermitente, la luz de verificaciรณn del motor se
enciende, pรฉrdida de potencia, problemas de cambio de transmisiรณn y apagado/bloqueo del motor sin poder
volverlo a prender.
1. Corrobore la etiqueta base (Formulario WAR259) para verificar que se haya fijado la etiqueta de terminaciรณn
de la FL860 (Formulario WAR260) para indicar que se realizรณ el trabajo. La etiqueta base se sitรบa,
por lo general, en la puerta del pasajero, a 12 pulgadas (30 cm) debajo de la cerradura de la puerta. Si hay
una etiqueta adhesiva de terminaciรณn, no es necesario el trabajo. Si no hay una etiqueta de terminaciรณn,
continรบe con el siguiente paso.
2. Estacione el vehรญculo sobre una superficie nivelada, girando el volante con fuerza hacia la derecha para
poder tener espacio para realizar las reparaciones. Apague el motor y ponga el freno de mano. Bloquee las
ruedas.
3. Abra el capรณ.
4. Desconecte el cable negativo de la baterรญa.
5. Quite la tapa del extremo del parachoques izquierdo quitando los sujetadores.
6. Retire el guardabarros del cuarto delantero izquierdo. Con una correa adecuada como apoyo (cuerda, elรกstico,
correa de amarre, etc.), apoye el mรณdulo de distribuciรณn de energรญa del tren de fuerza (PTPDM) y el
soporte del mรณdulo de distribuciรณn de energรญa principal (PDM) al soporte del capรณ de la pared frontal para
evitar daรฑos en el arnรฉs y los conectores.
7. Para acceder al todo el arnรฉs del motor DD8 y permitir la inspecciรณn de todos los puntos clave de rozamiento,
corte las correas de amarre que aseguran el arnรฉs del motor. Vea la Figura 1 y la Figura 2. Los

REVISION: Se actualizo el valor de torque en el paso 2.3 de la pagina 14 de las instrucciones

8. Si es necesario para poder acceder al arnรฉs del motor para su inspecciรณn, retire los soportes del tubo de la
varilla de mediciรณn de la transmisiรณn, los soportes de la lรญnea de combustible y los puntos de fijaciรณn con

9. Inspeccione el arnรฉs del motor en busca de daรฑos en los puntos clave de rozamiento. Retire el arnรฉs de

NOTA: Se considera que los arneses de cableado estรกn daรฑados cuando el rozamiento ha desgastado la envoltura
de fibra y el aislamiento del cable dejando expuestas las hebras de cable de cobre.

puede reparar.
โข Si mรกs de cinco cables del arnรฉs estรกn daรฑados, se debe reemplazar el arnรฉs.
IMPORTANTE: Se espera que sea necesario reemplazar menos del 1% de los arneses. Cuando sea necesario,
use PartsProยฎ (mรณdulo 487) o EZWiringโข para identificar el arnรฉs de motor especรญfico de VIN correcto. Utilizando
EZWiring, ingrese el nรบmero de serie en โInformaciรณn del vehรญculo/Bรบsqueda de ubicaciรณn”, luego seleccione
โArnรฉs de productos bรกsicosโ en โOpciones del sistemaโ. Para obtener ayuda en el reemplazo del arnรฉs
del motor, envรญe un ticket de WSC a Campaรฑas de garantรญa.
NOTA: Es posible que sea necesario quitar los puntos de fijaciรณn con presillas del arnรฉs y los conectores del
arnรฉs adicionales para proporcionar acceso al arnรฉs del cableado para su reparaciรณn.
11. Repare el cableado daรฑado de la siguiente manera.
11.1 Localice el รกrea daรฑada y corte con cuidado la envoltura de fibra con una herramienta para romper
costuras. Vea la Figura 4.
11.2 Dรฉ la vuelta a la herramienta para romper costuras de modo que el extremo romo quede hacia el
cableado, luego corte la longitud suficiente para permitir que la envoltura de fibra se desenvuelva.

11.6 Si el cable no tiene suficiente holgura para instalar un conector Phillips STA-DRY, agregue una

Au nom de sa division de camions Freightliner, Daimler Trucks
North America LLC (DTNA) a dรฉterminรฉ quโune
dรฉfectuositรฉ liรฉe ร la sรฉcuritรฉ des vรฉhicules ร moteur existe pour les vรฉhicules mentionnรฉs ci-dessus.
Sur certains vรฉhicules, il peut y avoir un contact ou un frottement ร divers endroits prรจs du compresseur dโair et
du longeron de cadre de chรขssis avec le faisceau du moteur. Dans certains cas, si les fils sont endommagรฉs, le
moteur pourrait caler sans avertissement et ne jamais pouvoir redรฉmarrer, ce qui augmenterait le risque de
collision.
Les faisceaux du moteur feront lโobjet dโune inspection pour vรฉrifier les signes dโendommagement et le
dรฉgagement adรฉquat, puis seront rรฉparรฉs au besoin. (On estime que moins de 1 % des vรฉhicules auront
besoin que leur faisceau de cรขblage soit remplacรฉ.)
Cette campagne couvre environ 10 904 vรฉhicules.

Objet : Dรฉgagement du faisceau de cรขblage
dโun moteur Freightliner
Modรจles concernรฉs : Certains vรฉhicules Freightliner 108SD,
114SD et Business Class M2 des annรฉes modรจles 2018 ร 2021
construits entre le 24 mai 2017 et le 26 aoรปt 2020, รฉquipรฉs dโun
moteur DD8.
Rรฉparation du faisceau de cรขblage dโun moteur DD8 โ Tous les
vรฉhicules
Sur les vรฉhicules concernรฉs, les faisceaux de cรขblage du moteur DD8 sont soumis ร des frottements ร
plusieurs endroits : au niveau et autour du compresseur dโair, sur les bords du support du faisceau de cรขblage
du moteur, ainsi quโau niveau de la pompe de servodirection du moteur et du longeron de cadre du chรขssis.
Ces frottements peuvent entraรฎnes des courts-circuits. Selon les fils soumis aux frottements, les symptรดmes
peuvent inclure : clignotement de tรฉmoins sur le tableau de bord, chute intermittente des indications des jauges,
allumage du tรฉmoin de vรฉrification du moteur, perte de puissance, problรจmes de changement de vitesse et
arrรชt/calage du moteur sans possibilitรฉ de redรฉmarrer.
1. Vรฉrifiez lโรฉtiquette de base (formulaire WAR259) pour voir si elle comporte un autocollant de parachรจvement
(formulaire WAR260) pour le rappel FL860, ce qui indiquerait que le travail a รฉtรฉ effectuรฉ. Lโรฉtiquette
de base se trouve gรฉnรฉralement sur la portiรจre cรดtรฉ passager, ร environ 30 cm (12 pouces) en dessous du
loquet de la portiรจre. Si un autocollant de parachรจvement est prรฉsent, aucun travail nโest requis. Si aucun
autocollant de parachรจvement nโest prรฉsent, passez ร lโรฉtape suivante.
2. Stationnez le vรฉhicule sur une surface plane, en tournant le volant de direction vers la droite pour faciliter
lโaccรจs en cas de rรฉparation. Arrรชtez le moteur, puis serrez le frein de stationnement. Calez les roues.
3. Ouvrez le capot.
4. Dรฉbranchez le cรขble nรฉgatif de la batterie.
5. Dรฉposez lโembout de pare-chocs gauche en retirant les piรจces de fixation.
6. Retirez le quart dโaile avant gauche. ร lโaide dโune attache appropriรฉe (corde, รฉlastique, sangle dโattache,
etc.) pour servir de support, soutenez le module de distribution dโรฉnergie du groupe motopropulseur (PTPDM)
et le support du module de distribution dโรฉnergie principal du vรฉhicule (PDM) sur la partie avant de la
caisse, afin dโรฉviter dโendommager le faisceau de cรขblage ou les connecteurs.
7. Pour accรฉder ร lโensemble du faisceau de cรขblage du moteur DD8, afin de permettre lโinspection ร tous les
points de frottement, couper les serre-cรขbles en nylon fixant le faisceau de cรขblage du moteur. Reportezvous
ร la Figure 1 et ร la Figure 2. Les principaux points de frottement du faisceau de cรขblage dโun moteur
DD8 sont les suivants :
โข le compresseur dโair
โข le support de fixation du compresseur dโair
โข la conduite de refoulement du compresseur dโair
โข les canalisations de carburant
โข le tube de la jauge dโhuile de transmission
โข la pompe de servodirection
โข le longeron de cadre du chรขssis

9. Inspectez le faisceau de cรขblage du moteur aux principaux points de frottement pour vรฉrifier quโil nโest pas
endommagรฉ. Tirez le faisceau de cรขblage hors des supports, afin dโeffectuer une inspection complรจte, en
utilisant un miroir, si nรฉcessaire. Reportez-vous ร la Figure 3.
REMARQUE : Un faisceau de cรขblage est considรฉrรฉ comme endommagรฉ lorsque les frottements ont usรฉ la
gaine tressรฉe en fibres du faisceau de cรขblage et lโisolation des fils, entraรฎnant lโexposition de brins de fil de
cuivre.
IMPORTANT : Nโutilisez pas utiliser une lame de rasoir ร crochet pour couper lโenrobage en fibres du faisceau
de cรขblage. Utilisez un dรฉcouseur (reportez-vous ร la Figure 4 ) et veillez ร ne pas couper les fils du faisceau
de cรขblage.

10. Si vous constatez que le faisceau de cรขblage est endommagรฉ, coupez et dรฉgagez lโenrobage du faisceau
dans la zone endommagรฉe pour dรฉterminer lโรฉtendue des dommages. Reportez-vous ร la Figure 5.
โข Si cinq fils ou moins (environ 30 % ou moins) du faisceau de cรขblage sont endommagรฉs, le faisceau
peut รชtre rรฉparรฉ.
โข Si plus de cinq fils du faisceau sont endommagรฉs, le faisceau de cรขblage doit รชtre remplacรฉ.
IMPORTANT : On sโattend ร ce que moins de 1 % des vรฉhicules nรฉcessiteront le remplacement du faisceau de
cรขblage. Si nรฉcessaire, utilisez PartsProMD (Module 487) ou EZWiringMC pour localiser le faisceau moteur correspondant
au NIV. Utilisez lโapplication EZWiringMC (sous ยซ Vehicle Information / Location search ยป (Informations
sur le vรฉhicule / Recherche dโemplacement)), puis sรฉlectionnez ยซ Commodity Harness ยป (Faisceau de
cรขblage gรฉnรฉrique) sous ยซ System Options ยป (Options du systรจme). Pour obtenir de lโaide sur le remplacement
dโun faisceau de cรขblage du moteur, soumettez un ticket WSC aux campagnes de garantie.
REMARQUE : Il peut รชtre nรฉcessaire de dรฉposer des points dโattache et des connecteurs de faisceau supplรฉmentaires
pour permettre lโaccรจs au faisceau de cรขblage aux fins de le rรฉparer.
11. Rรฉparez les cรขbles endommagรฉs comme suit.
11.1 Localisez la zone endommagรฉe, puis dรฉcoupez soigneusement lโenrobage en fibres ร lโaide dโun dรฉcouseur.
Reportez-vous ร la Figure 4.
11.2 Retournez le dรฉcouseur de maniรจre ร ce que lโextrรฉmitรฉ รฉmoussรฉe soit orientรฉe vers le cรขblage, puis
dรฉcoupez une longueur suffisante pour permettre de dรฉgager lโenrobage. Reportez-vous ร la Figure
5.
11.3 Dรฉgagez lโenrobage en fibres jusquโร ce quโune zone suffisante soit exposรฉe pour effectuer la rรฉparation.
Reportez-vous ร la Figure 6.
11.4 Coupez la section de fil endommagรฉe.
11.5 Inspectez le faisceau de cรขblage pour vous assurer quโil prรฉsente suffisamment de mou pour pouvoir

IMPORTANT : La rรฉparation du faisceau de cรขblage du moteur ne doit pas excรฉder cinq fils. Cela comprend
jusquโร cinq sections de fils dโextension. Les rรฉparations de plusieurs fils doivent รชtre รฉchelonnรฉes ร
lโaide de fils dโextension de longueur variable, afin de maintenir la taille globale du faisceau de cรขblage du
moteur ร un minimum.
11.8 Enrobez toute la longueur de la zone rรฉparรฉe avec du ruban dโenrobage en fibres de verre neuf (numรฉro
de piรจce 48-25910-003). Assurez-vous que suffisamment de ruban est utilisรฉ pour faire
chevaucher les points de dรฉpart.
11.9 Fixez chaque extrรฉmitรฉ de lโenrobage en fibres avec du ruban isolant.
11.10 Remettez en place les points dโattache et les connecteurs dรฉposรฉs pour pouvoir effectuer la rรฉparation.
12. Enrobez le faisceau de cรขblage aux principaux points de frottement avec un enrobage ultra haute rรฉsistance
(TwistTubeMD) pour une protection supplรฉmentaire.
13. Ajoutez de la gaine TwistTubeMD au faisceau de cรขblage du moteur dans la zone du support du compresseur
dโair. Utilisez les mesures indiquรฉes ร la Figure 9, Figure 10, Figure 11, et ร la Figure 12.
Ajoutez du TwistTube sur les premiers 203 mm (8 pouces) de la section horizontale devant la section verticale
(reportez-vous ร la Figure 9) et sur les premiers 457 mm (18 pouces) derriรจre la section verticale
(reportez-vous ร la Figure 10). La longueur totale de TwistTube ajoutรฉe sera donc de 660 mm (26 pouces).
Reportez-vous ร la Figure 11.
Ajoutez du TwistTube sur 304 mm (12 pouces) de la section verticale, en commenรงant ร la jonction avec la
section horizontale. Reportez-vous ร la Figure 12.
Fixez les extrรฉmitรฉs libres du TwistTube avec du ruban isolant ou des serre-cรขbles en nylon.

3.1 Utilisez deux serre-cรขbles en nylon attaches de fixation avec clips sapin (rรฉfรฉrence 23-14137-001)
pour fixer le faisceau de cรขblage aux supports. Aprรจs avoir installรฉ les serre-cรขbles en nylon,
assurez-vous que le faisceau de cรขblage nโentre pas en contact avec aucune piรจce du compresseur.
Remplacement du support dโรฉcartement du volant dโinertie du
moteur pour les vรฉhicules concernรฉs par la campagne FL860 de
la population B.
1. Remplacez le support dโรฉcartement existant (reportez-vous ร la Figure 19) sur le cรดtรฉ gauche du carter du
volant moteur avec un nouveau support dโรฉcartement fourni dans la trousse (numรฉro de piรจce 23-13514-
021). Reportez-vous ร la Figure 20.
1.1 Installez le support ร lโaide de la nouvelle rondelle plate (numรฉro de piรจce 23-09114-001) et du boulon
existant, puis serrez ce dernier ร un couple entre 36 et 43 Nยทm (entre 27 et 32 lbfยทpi).
2. Utilisez un serre-cรขble en nylon (numรฉro de piรจce 23-14137-001) pour fixer le faisceau de cรขblage du moteur
sur le nouveau support dโรฉcartement au niveau du carter du volant dโinertie du moteur.
Instructions supplรฉmentaires de travail ร effectuer pour tous les
vรฉhicules
1. Fixez le faisceau de cรขblage du moteur ร tous les points dโattache sur le support montรฉ sur le compresseur
dโair ร lโaide de serre-cรขbles en nylon. Ajoutez une gaine TwistTube supplรฉmentaire ร tous les points de
frottement potentiels. Si nรฉcessaire, utilisez des serre-cรขbles en nylon supplรฉmentaires pour fixer le faisceau
de cรขblage.
2. Installez le collier de la canalisation de carburant avant et le collier de serrage du tube de la jauge de
niveau de lโhuile de transmission ร lโaide des colliers de serrage et des piรจces de fixation dโorigine.

3. Remettez lโembout de pare-chocs gauche en place.
4. Installez le quart dโaile avant gauche, puis retirez les attaches mises en place pour soutenir le module PTPDM
et le module PDM. Fixez ensuite le support du module PTPDM et du module PDM.
5. Rebranchez le cรขble nรฉgatif de la batterie.
6. Dรฉmarrez le moteur et laissez-le tourner pendant une minute pour vรฉrifier la rรฉparation.
7. Refermez le capot.
8. Nettoyez un emplacement sur lโรฉtiquette de base (formulaire WAR259), รฉcrivez le numรฉro de rappel FL860
sur un autocollant de parachรจvement (formulaire WAR260), puis collez-le sur lโรฉtiquette de base pour indiquer
lโachรจvement du travail.
