Summary
Cruiser RV (Cruiser) is recalling certain 2022 Shadow Cruiser, Embrace, MPG, Radiance, Hitch, Twilight, and Stryker travel trailers. The quick disconnect fittings in the LP gas system may be cracked, causing a gas leak.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the fittings, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed in June 29, 2022. Owners may contact Cruiser customer service at 1-574-206-7920. Cruiser’s number for this recall is 99.03.21.

STEP 1: LOCATE THE QUICK DISCONNECT(S);
- USUALLY THEY ARE LOCATED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CHASSIS RAIL
STEP 2: IDENTIFY THE COLOR OF RUBBER DUST CAP;
- BLACK RUBBER DUST CAP(S) THAT HAS “ENERCO GROUP” ETCHED ON THE SLIDER – THIS IS A RECALLED QUICK DISCONNECT AND REMEDY IS REQUIRED
- BLUE RUBBER DUST CAP(S) – NOT A RECALLED QUICK DISCONNECT
- YELLOW RUBBER DUST CAP(S) – NOT A RECALLED QUICK DISCONNECT
STEP 2A: REMOVE THE QUICK DISCONNECT(S);
- ADJUST ONE WRENCH TO FIT THE HEX FLATS OF THE PIPE NIPPLE INSTALLED INTO THE END OF THE QD WHICH THEN CONNECTS TO A MANIFOLD OR BRACKET CONNECTED TO A LPG HOSE
- ADJUST THE OTHER WRENCH TO FIT THE BODY OF THE QD, KEEP WRENCH CLOSE TO THE PIPE NIPPLE SIDE OF THE QD
- KEEP STEADY PRESSURE ON THE PIPE NIPPLE WRENCH, DO NOT ALLOW IT TO ROTATE;
- UNTHREAD THE QUICK DISCONNECT FROM THE PIPE NIPPLE
- REMOVE ADJUSTABLE WRENCHES AND SET ASIDE FOR USE AGAIN
- USE THE WIRE BRUSH TO CLEAN ANY REMAINING SEALANT OR DEBRIS FROM THE PIPE NIPPLE THREADS
- CLEAN OFF WITH A RAG, ENSURING NOT TO GET ANY DEBRIS INSIDE OF THE PIPE NIPPLE
STEP 2B: INSTALL THE QUICK DISCONNECT(S);
- APPLY EITHER PIPE SEALANT OR YELLOW TEFLON TAPE TO THE PIPE NIPPLE THREADS
- DO NOT APPLY PIPE SEALANT INSIDE OF THE QUICK DISCONNECT
- ADJUST ONE WRENCH TO FIT THE HEX FLATS OF THE PIPE NIPPLE INSTALLED INTO THE END OF THE QD WHICH THEN CONNECTS TO A MANIFOLD OR BRACKET CONNECTED TO A LPG HOSE
- KEEP STEADY PRESSURE ON THE PIPE NIPPLE WRENCH, DO NOT ALLOW IT TO ROTATE
- HAND THREAD THE NEW QUICK DISCONNECT UNTIL TIGHT ONTO THE PIPE NIPPLE
- ADJUST THE OTHER WRENCH TO FIT THE BODY OF THE QD, KEEP WRENCH CLOSE TO THE PIPE NIPPLE SIDE OF THE QD
- TIGHTEN THE QUICK DISCONNECT:

STEP 3A: IF THE AUXILIARY HOSE HAS A RUBBER BLACK DUST CAP, THE QUICK DISCONNECT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED;
- ADJUST ONE WRENCH TO FIT THE HEX FLATS OF THE BRASS BARB FITTING INSTALLED INTO THE END OF THE BLACK LP HOSE WHICH THEN CONNECTS TO THE QD
- ADJUST THE OTHER WRENCH TO FIT THE BODY OF THE QD, KEEP WRENCH CLOSE TO THE BRASS BARB FITTING SIDE OF THE QD
- KEEP STEADY PRESSURE ON THE BRASS BARB FITTING WRENCH, DO NOT ALLOW IT TO ROTATE;
- UNTHREAD THE QUICK DISCONNECT FROM THE BRASS BARB FITTING
- REMOVE ADJUSTABLE WRENCHES AND SET ASIDE FOR USE AGAIN
- USE THE WIRE BRUSH TO CLEAN ANY REMAINING SEALANT OR DEBRIS FROM THE BRASS BARB FITTING THREADS
- CLEAN OFF WITH A RAG, ENSURING NOT TO GET ANY DEBRIS INSIDE OF THE BRASS BARB FITTING
STEP 4: Perform a bubble solution test with soapy water
- Pressurize the entire system to 10 to 14in water column.
- Spray changed LP quick disconnect with soapy water or leak detector bubble solution.
- Monitor for bubbles. If bubbles found retighten or repeat step 2b and retest (Step 4)
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Cruiser RV (Cruiser) has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2022 Cruiser Shadow Cruiser, Radiance, Embrace, Twilight, Stryker, Hitch and MPG Travel Trailers manufactured between 2021 and 2022. We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you, however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.
Reason for this recall
On certain 2022 Cruiser Shadow Cruiser, Radiance, Embrace, Twilight, Stryker, Hitch and MPG Travel Trailers the LP quick disconnect may have cracks in the brass that can lead to LP gas leaks. Excessive LP gas leak may lead to an explosion and fire, which may lead to property damage and personal injury
What we will do
Cruiser will have an authorized dealer or repair center inspect the quick disconnect. If found faulty, the dealer will replace the LP quick connect and perform a test to verify proper installation. This repair should take no more than 20 minutes to complete. This defect will be corrected at no expense to you, the owner. All Reimbursements will be covered by Cruiser’s general reimbursement plan.

At your earliest convenience, Please contact your local dealer to set up an appointment to have this inspected and if needed corrected immediately, this service will be performed free of charge. You will need the following information for the phone call:
- VIN of your travel trailer
- Name, Address, and Phone Number
If you have questions concerning this recall or if you need any assistance please contact the Warranty/Service Department by phone at 260-562-3500. If you had appropriate repairs completed prior to receipt of this recall notice, and if you incurred any direct cost in connection with obtaining such repair, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement from CRV by contacting the CRV Warranty/Service Department.
If after contacting CRV Customer Service you are still not satisfied we have done our best to remedy this situation, you may also submit a written complaint to Transport Canada – Road Safety, 80 rue Noël, Gatineau, Quebec J8Z 0A1 or call 1-800-333-0510. Federal regulations require that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days.
Chronology :
4/6/22 was notified by Thor Corp of Forest Rivers findings of faulty disconnects.
4/7 to 4/20 FRC and Warranty claims investigation and analysis. 4/19 Received shipment and PO information from Flex Tech.
4/20 received letter from Flex-Tech stating LP disconnect issue with Flex-Techs findings.
4/26 safety committee meeting voted for a voluntary recall. An investigation was called to determine the affected unit scope and range. Received final scope of units sold to Cruiser RV.
6/10 submitted amendment for recall 22v293.
Informed Cruiser will have to submit a new recall.

Therefore the Quick disconnect/s in the LP gas system may be cracked. FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : A Crack in the LP disconnect can cause an LP leak. Excessive LP gas leak may lead to an explosion and fire, which may lead to property damage and personal injury. Description of the Cause : Porous brass from the manufacturer can lead to cracks in the fitting when tightening during assembly. Identification of Any Warning that can Occur : The owner may notice the smell of LP gas near the quick disconnect mounted under the trailer. Address : 4560 West 160 St. c Ohio 44135 Country : United States Chronology : 4/6/22 was notified by Thor Corp of Forest Rivers findings of faulty disconnects. 4/7 to 4/20 FRC and Warranty claims investigation and analysis. 4/19 Received shipment and PO information from Flex Tech. 4/20 received letter from Flex-Tech stating LP disconnect issue with Flex-Techs findings. 4/26 safety committee meeting voted for a voluntary recall. An investigation was called to determine the affected unit scope and range. Received final scope of units sold to Cruiser RV. 6/10 submitted amendment for recall 22v293. Informed Cruiser will have to submit a new recall. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Cruiser will have an authorized dealer or repair center inspect the quick disconnect. If found faulty, the dealer will replace the LP quick connect and perform a test to verify proper installation. This repair should take no more than 20 minutes to complete. This defect will be corrected at no expense to you, the owner. All Reimbursements will be covered by Cruise’s general reimbursement plan. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : 76290W Quick Disconnect replacement will have the same part number 76290W Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : On March 31, 2022 the supplier indicated that they had and were conduction immediate and complete internal retraining.
