Summary
Triple E Recreational Vehicles (Triple E) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Unity U24MB, U24IB, U24CB, U24FX, U24RL, U24TB, and Wonder W24MB, W24RTB, W24FTB, W24RL recreational vehicles, equipped with certain 2-burner cooktops. The burner control valves may become damaged, causing a gas leak.
Remedy
Triple E will work with Dometic to replace the cooktops, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2022. Owners may contact Triple E customer service at 1-877-992-9906 or contact Dometic at recall.cooktop.22E021@dometic.com or 1-888-943-4905 or 574-389-3713. Triple E’s number for this recall is CA#10130-1.

Triple E Recreational Vehicles has decided that a defect exists in certain 2021 & 2022 Unity (U24MB, U24IB, U24TB, U24CB, U24RL, U24TB) and Wonder (W24RTB, W24FTB, W24RL, W24MB) motorhomes manufactured between April 26, 2021 and May 6, 2022
Description of Defect:
Dometic Corporation has issued a Recall on the CE99-ZF 2-burner cooktop.
The user may become aware of the potential safety-related defect during operation of the cooktop. The issue is the burner control valve, mated directly to the control knob via the valve stem, may leak gas. The gas will leak directly into the recessed portion of the cooktop, where the knobs and ignitor are located, and may be ignited by the active burner(s). The ignition will result in a small pilot flame directly at the control knob. There is an increased risk of injury and fire.
To Have This Modification Performed:
We request your assistance to have this Safety issue corrected. Contact Dometic Corporation at recall.cooktop.22E021@dometic.com or 1-888-943-4905 or -574-389-3713 to identify if the cooktop is in the population of recalled units. Dometic Corporation will then make arrangements for the remedy. The notification from Dometic is included in this mailing for your perusal.

WE WERE NOTIFIED BY DOMETIC CORPORATION ON MAY 25/2022 THAT THEY HAD ISSUED A RECALL ON DOMETIC COOKTOPS, 2 BURNER MODEL, CE99-ZF WITH CERTAIN SERIAL #’S , WHICH WE PURCHASED FROM DOMETIC CORP. SPECIFICALLY, THE BURNER CONTROL VALVES MAY BECOME DAMAGED, CAUSING A GAS LEAK. ON MAY 25 /2022 TRIPLE E RECEIVED PURCHASING RECORDS FROM DOMETIC AND BEGAN RESEARCHING TO DETERMINE WHICH VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED. ON JUNE 2 /2022, DETERMINED WHICH VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED AND PLAN TO PROCEED TO NOTIFY RETAIL OWNERS.

The gas will leak directly into the recessed portion of the cooktop, where the knobs and ignitor are located, and may be ignited by the active burner(s). The ignition will result in a small pilot flame directly at the control knob. There is an increased risk of injury and fire. SPECIFICALLY, THE BURNER CONTROL VALVES MAY BECOME DAMAGED, CAUSING A GAS LEAK. ON MAY 25 /2022 TRIPLE E RECEIVED PURCHASING RECORDS FROM DOMETIC AND BEGAN RESEARCHING TO DETERMINE WHICH VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED. ON JUNE 2 /2022, DETERMINED WHICH VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED AND PLAN TO PROCEED TO NOTIFY RETAIL OWNERS. THE RETAIL OWNER WILL BE ISSUED A CARD TO BE FILLED OUT AND RETURNED TO RECEIVE A REPLACEMENT UNIT. DOMETIC CORPORATION IS SUPPLYING THIS RECALL REMEDY AT NO CHARGE. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : THE REMEDY COOKTOPS WILL HAVE A SERIAL # NOT IN THE RECALLED POPULATION AND NOT HAVE THE DEFECTIVE BURNER CONTROL VALVE.
