Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : To correct this condition, a new Handrail Part Number 10079562 was set up with EBOM Project B16058 to provide the needed part with the ADA Compliant Diameter. All affected vehicles will need to have the 1″ diameter handrail replaced with the 1.25″ version. Units should be inspected to determine if the 1″ diameter handrail was used. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedy component has an outside diameter of 1.25 inches, where the non-compliant handrail has an outside diameter of 1 inch. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : When engineering was made aware of the issue, the parts were quarantined and stock of a similar part was substituted to provide the 1.25 inch diameter handrail. New parts numbers were created by design engineering to remedy the issue. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedy component has an outside diameter of 1.25 inches, where the non-compliant handrail has an outside diameter of 1 inch. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : When engineering was made aware of the issue, the parts were quarantined and stock of a similar part was substituted to provide the 1.25 inch diameter handrail. New parts numbers were created by design engineering to remedy the issue.
