Descriptive Information : Monday March 13th we were contacted by a NHTSA representative about the WARN
recall. Upon notification we reached out to our WARN representative to gain more
information about the recall. Once we obtained product numbers we searched our
database to find affected parts still on the shelf in inventory and products that were
installed on specific customer units. Three mini/utility apparatus have the affected
winch installed.

Description of Defect :
Description of the Defect : Warn Industries has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety
exits in the handheld remote control device that was sold with WARN VR EVO
winches. A small number of remotes which have been exposed to or
submerged in water have exhibited failures that can result in unintended
winch operation. Only the remote is subject to recall. The winch is not affected.

board corrosion, which can allow the winch to operate unintentionally,

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Customers will be contacted. Customers are required to follow the
enclosed directions to disable and remove the battery system from their
remote and going direct wire, customers will upload the photos to the
WARN website, WARN will process the $100.00 coupon and then send out
a new remote at no charge once it is available to the impacted customers.
How Remedy Component Differs
from Recalled Component :
The initial remedy involved removing the battery pack which is the failing
component from the remote. The secondary remedy being issued by
WARN will involve shipping a new water resistant designed remote.

was Corrected in Production :
Unknown. This is being processed by WARN in their manufacturing
process.
