Production Dates : AUG 25, 2021 – MAY 25, 2022 VIN Range 1 : Begin : NR End : NR Not sequential Description of Defect : Description of the Defect : Winnebago Industries has decided that a defect related to vehicle safety exists on certain 2022 Winnebago Micro Minnie model series due to potentially loose mounting hardware on the solar panel. FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : On certain models the solar panel mounting hardware can potentially loosen, which could lead to a full detachment of the solar panel. A detached solar panel while in transit increases the risk of a crash. Description of the Cause : The mounting screws have the potential to vibrate out of the solar panel mounting bracket. This could lead to a mounting hardware failure, which could results in a full detachment of the solar panel. Identification of Any Warning that can Occur : NR Involved Components : Part 573 Safety Recall Report 23V-311 Page 2 The information contained in this report was submitted pursuant to 49 CFR §573 Component Name 1 : Solar Panel Mounting Hardware Component Description : Mounting Screw Component Part Number : 2010750313A Component Name 2 : Solar Panel Mounting Hardware Component Description : Mounting Bracket Component Part Number : 275083 Supplier Identification : Component Manufacturer Name : NR Address : NR NR Country : NR Chronology : In March 2023, Customer Service alerted our Product Safety Administrator of a potential safety concern involving a solar panel detachment while the customer was in transit. A safety investigation was subsequently opened. Once the investigation was completed, it was reviewed by the product safety committee on 4/27/2023. The product safety committee decided that the issue presented an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety and a notice of defect was filed. Winnebago is aware of a total of 35 loose solar panel mounting hardware issues, with 11 of those issues resulting in total detachment. The first known issue occurred in January, 2022. There are no known accidents or injuries related to this issue. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Reimbursement request will fall under the general reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.
