When the average radius of curvature of a mirror is less than 889 mm, the bus must come equipped with a cross view mirror label. The average radius of curvature for the rearview mirrors were less than 889mm, but the bus did not come equipped with a cross view mirror label. FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : The driver is not warned by a label and could use the Cross View Mirrors while moving. Images in such mirrors do not accurately show another vehicle’s location. The mirror’s intended use is for viewing pedestrians while the bus is stopped. Description of the Cause : Warning label was not installed during manufacturing of the bus. (Crash Unit). The label for the Cross View Mirror was missing. 49 CFR 573.6 – Defect and Noncompliance Notification. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Missing warning label. Titan Bus, LLC has a label included with the notice that we recommend installing on the vehicles to ensure the safety issue is resolved and that the vehicle is safe to operate. Titan Bus LLC also instructed the owners of the location to install the label along with pictures to identify the location. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The label was missing and is now included in the notification letter. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The warning label is now installed in the vehicles during production.
