) is recalling certain 2023-2024 GR, AN, LR, and Terrapro vehicles. The engine may not return to idle within 2 seconds if the accelerator pedal position sensor becomes disconnected. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 124, “Accelerator Control Systems.”
Remedy
The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 21, 2024. Owners may contact Mack
customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack

Description
The engine may not return to idle within the time period required by FMVSS 124 (2 seconds) if the accelerator pedal position sensor becomes disconnected. An engine that doesn’t return to idle could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
There have been no field reports, warranty claims or customer complaints associated with this issue.
The remedy for this recall is currently under development.

- Certain 2023 and 2024 Anthem, Granite, LR and TerraPro model vehicles manufactured October 24, 2022, through October 27, 2023.

Dealer Responsibilities
- The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Act require dealers to ensure that all new and used vehicles are free of safety defects and comply with all relevant safety standards at the time of delivery to the consumer.
- Dealers should make their personnel aware of the safety recall. In the event that a dealer has a vehicle included in the safety recall in their inventory to be sold, the condition must be corrected before releasing it to a customer.

disconnected, the default operating voltage range on the engine rationality
check timing for return to idle is non-compliant with FMVSS 124 S5.2 and S5.3.

Description of the Safety Risk : If the accelerator position sensor ground wire were to become disconnected,
the engine would operate out of compliant return to idle time target, where
there could be loss of control of the vehicle which could result in a risk of
crash. There have been no warranty claims, field or service reports reported
for this issue.
Description of the Cause : When Pin B is open circuit, the pedal defaults to a high state of 3.8V. This is
within the operating voltage of the engine and is read as 100% driver demand.
On the previously introduced pedal, the OC voltage was 5V. This is outside of
the operating range and is read as an error and does not cause 100% driver
demand.

Description The engine may not return to idle within the time period required by FMVSS 124 (2 seconds) if the accelerator pedal position sensor becomes disconnected. An engine that doesn’t return to idle could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.There have been no field reports, warranty claims or customer complaints associated with this issue. The remedy for this recall is currently under development. Model and Model Years Affected
•Certain 2023 and 2024 Anthem, Granite, LR and TerraPro model vehicles manufactured October 24,2022, through October 27, 2023.
Vehicle Quantities
•947 vehicles (851 US, 96 Canada)
Dealer Responsibilities
•The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Act requiredealers to ensure that all new and used vehicles are free of safety defects and comply with all relevantsafety standards at the time of delivery to the consumer.
•Dealers should make their personnel aware of the safety recall. In the event that a dealer has a vehicleincluded in the safety recall in their inventory to be sold, the condition must be corrected beforereleasing it to a customer.
Notification Release Schedule
•Vehicle list will be posted on the Trucks Dealer Portal November 27, 2023.
•Owner notification letters will be released on or before December 15, 2023.
•Repair Instruction will be released once they are available.
