SAFETY RECALL NOTICE
Manufacturer’s assigned campaign number: PC-2023-01 NHTSA Recall ID: 23V825 To all PILOTCAR vehicle dealers: This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
PILOTCAR EV, Inc. has decided that certain 2021 through 2023 Model Year PILOTCAR LSVs, fail to comply to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 500 “Low Speed Vehicles”. Accordingly, a recall to address this issue is being initiated effective February 1, 2024. The noncompliance involves vehicles that may be missing the required Red Rear Side Reflex Markers. 2021 through 2023 PILOTCAR LSV may have noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 500, because the required Red Rear Side Reflex Markers have not been installed properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 500, “Low Speed Vehicles” Owners will be notified by mail about the recall and will be instructed to bring their PILOTCAR LSV for inspection to their local PILOTCAR dealer. There is no cost to owners for this recall. You as PILOTCAR vehicle dealer will inspect the vehicle free of charge. If Red Rear Side Reflex Marker replacement or installation is determined to be required, it will be replaced free of charge in about 10 minutes, and the vehicle can be driven immediately after the replacement is completed.
Replacement Red Rear Side Reflex Markers will be provided to your dealership free of charge, and you will be reimbursed for the inspection and/or replacement at standard Warranty Labor Rates. (2/10 hours for replacement and inspection, or 1/10 hours for inspection only, if it is determined that correct Red Rear Side Reflex Marker has been installed and therefore replacement is not required). The replacement Kit will be:

Descriptive Information : All vehicles manufactured and sold as LSV prior 12/1/2023 are being recalled. 265 vehicles were sold in USA since October 2021, however at this time it is not known how many of them were sold as LSV. Some have been sold as “Golf Cart” and have not been registered by their owner’s for use on public roads, thus do not need to confirm to FMVSS 500 requirements. The exact VINs are yet to be determined.
All vehicles are Battery Powered LSVs.

Description of the Safety Risk : Without rear reflex side marker, the Low Speed Vehicle would have
decreased visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Description of the Cause : Rear Side Red Reflex was attached to vehicle body with double sided adhesive foam tape which due to heat and vehicle vibration during operation may have failed to hold the Reflex in place and it could have fallen off. Identification of Any Warning

On 11/28/2023 Mete Timur president of PILOTCAR EV, Inc. (Florida-USA) contacted MIROX Corporation via e- mail about FMVSS #500 compliance testing. Miro Kefurt President of MIROX Corporation subsequently called Mr. Timur. During the phone conversation Mr. Timur disclosed that PILOTAR EV, Inc. has been assembling golf carts from “kit” that were supplied to and imported by PILOTCAR (Florida-USA) from PILOTCAR OTOMOTIV SAN. TIC. A.S. [Manufacturer ID 20932] (Turkey) and then assembled in Florida by PILOTCAR (Florida-USA) into completed vehicles. There was no distinction between “Golf Cart” or “LSV”, so at this time it is unknown how many vehicles were actually sold by Dealers as LSV and registered for use on public roads.
Mr. Timur and Mr. Kefurt had in person meeting in Las Vegas on 12/1/2023 and Mr. Timur provided some vehicle images. Also Mr. Kefurt looked at Dealer websites. Some of the images of the PILOTCAR vehicles designated as LSV did not appear to have the required by FMVSS #500 Red Rear Side Reflex markers. It was therefore determined by Mr. Kefurt that a recall of the vehicles that were sold as LSV needs to be initiated. Due to the fact that PILOTCAR assembled and sold the vehicles in USA, Mr. Timur decided that PILOTCAR EV, Inc. should be responsible for the vehicles and recall them. PILOTCAR (Florida-USA) has been registered with NHTSA on 12/1/2023 [Manufacturer ID 23039] and the Recall Account was finalized on 12/7/2023. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : The RED rear side reflex markers will be installed (if missing) and affixed

The recalled component is not attached by the two mounting screws. As of 12/1/2023 all vehicles have the Red rear side reflex marker attached both with the self-adhesive foam backing and then additionally secured with two mounting screws.
