LED Backlight Circuit Board Failure May Cause Fire

Summary
Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Montana, 2021-2022 Montana High Country, 2022-2024 Fuzion, 2021 Crossroads Cruiser, and 2024 Dutchmen Aspen Trail LOFT vehicles. The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range may fail, causing the board to overheat.
Remedy
Dealers can remove the LED backlights or terminate the circuit for the red LED lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 17, 2024. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone’s number for this recall is 24-452.

Chronology :
9/15/2023 – Initial report was made lights had melted on suburban stove knobs.
3/6/2024 – Investigation opened. All affected stoves were put on hold and yard was inspected no issues were reported. Warranty claims for melted knob failures include 29 claims, claim created start date June 1, 2023 to claim created end date September 23, 2023.
3/22/2024 – Suburban notifies Keystone of their recall filed with NHTSA
3/26/2024 – Investigation concluded and scope completed.

Description of Remedy Program : There are two remedies for this issue. The LED backlights can be removed
from the range or the circuit powering the LED backlights can be cut and properly terminated. Manufacturer Reimbursement Plan on file as of 10/11/2022. General reimbursement plan to be updated every two years. New vehicles are covered under warranty. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The remedied range will have the LED backlights removed or the circuit for the Red LED lights terminated.

9/15/2023 – Initial report was made lights had melted on suburban stove knobs.
3/6/2024 – Investigation opened. All affected stoves were put on hold and yard was inspected no issues were reported. Warranty claims for melted knob failures include 29 claims, claim created start date June 1, 2023 to claim created end date September 23, 2023.
3/22/2024 – Suburban notifies Keystone of their recall filed with NHTSA 3/26/2024 – Investigation concluded and scope completed. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : There are two remedies for this issue. The LED backlights can be removed
from the range or the circuit powering the LED backlights can be cut and properly terminated. Manufacturer Reimbursement Plan on file as of 10/11/2022. General reimbursement plan to be updated every two years. New vehicles are covered under warranty. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedied range will have the LED backlights removed or the circuit for the Red LED lights terminated.
