Remedy
Dealers will inspect and secure the brake lines, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 1, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River Bus Customer Service Phone Number at 1-800-348-7440. Forest River
Bus number for this recall is 05-1756.

Concern:
The brake lines may not be attached to the frame rail.
Turn off LP Gas at LPG Tank(s). Place vehicle in (P) Park and engage the Parking Brake. Disconnect the vehicles’ battery Positive and Negative, disconnect any House battery(s) Positive and Negative, if equipped with a generator ensure it is off and lastly, ensure the vehicle is disconnected from shore power. Block any tires/wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Failure to do so may result in electrocution, fire or other personal injury, property damage and/or death.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the United States’ National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Forest River has decided that a defect, which relates to the motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2018 Starcraft

WHAT IS THE DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE?
On certain transit buses, the brake lines may not be secured correctly. As a result, the brake lines could become damaged by contact with the frame rail. This could lead to a brake fluid leak and cause reduced braking.
EVALUATION OF THE RISK TO THE VEHICLE AND OPERATOR(S) RELATED TO THE RECALL.
If the brake lines touch the frame rail, the lines could develop a hole causing a loss of brake pressure and increasing the risk of a crash.
WHAT IS FOREST RIVER AND OUR DEALERSHIPS GOING TO DO?
Forest River is notifying dealerships of the recall. You may have the recall corrected at any Forest River
dealership. However, it is preferable if you have your selling dealership perform the remedy. Forest River
completely covers your cost for the remedy; you will not receive any bill of sale for anything covered under the above recall number.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Please contact your dealer immediately and request a service appointment to schedule the free remedy to secure the brake lines. The vehicle Owner is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. Please state you have been notified by Forest River of having a recall in process for your vehicle and provide the recall number for the dealership. It is also helpful to the dealership to have a copy of this letter when you take your vehicle in for the recall remedy.

HOW LONG WILL THE REMEDY PROCESS TAKE?
The estimated time of repair is .25 hours. However, the dealership may need to keep your vehicle or schedule an appointment with you for a later date to fit into their regular service schedule.
WHAT IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY PAID FOR REPAIRS TO YOUR VEHICLE FOR THIS PARTICULAR CONDITION?
If you have already paid for a repair that is within the scope of this defect under recall, you still need to have this recall inspected and/or performed to ensure the correct parts and procedures were utilized.
Additionally, you may be eligible for a refund of previously paid repairs. Refunds will only be provided for within the scope of this defect under recall.

Chronology :
On March 25, 2024, Forest River’s Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) was notified by its supplier, L&W Engineering, that when stretching the chassis, P-Clamps may not have been installed to hold the brake lines in place. OCC opened a research item.
On April 1, 2024, Forest River was able to begin identifying that these chassis had been used in manufacturing.
On April 5, 2024, Forest Rivers Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall.

suspected VIN numbers to our third party vendor that is licensed to pull data on the current owner of the vehicles (as needed) once a formal NHTSA I.D. is provided. Forest River intends on pushing the mailing out as soon as NHTSA provides any correction(s) and an Acknowledgement Letter.

Turn off LP Gas at LPG Tank(s). Place vehicle in (P) Park and engage the Parking Brake. Disconnect the vehicles’ battery Positive and Negative, disconnect any House battery(s) Positive and Negative, if equipped with a generator ensure it is off and lastly, ensure the vehicle is disconnected from shore power. Block any tires/wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Failure to do so may result in electrocution, fire or other personal injury, property damage and/or death.

Overview:
• Before starting any work read and review the Service Bulletin in its entirety. If there are any questions or points
of uncertainty, contact L&W Engineering. While performing this bulletin, all industry safety standards must be
followed.
Instructions:
Step A. Determine if unit has brake lines removed from retaining clip.
1. Locate the clip in question. This is a clip on the top side of the driver’s side (DS) frame rail. See Diagrams
2 and 3.

Feel the top side of the rail where the retaining clip is located.
a.
If both lines are felt in the clip as shown in Diagram 3 no additional steps are required.
b.
If one or both lines are out of the retaining clip (see Diagram 4) move onto Step B.
Step B. Add the new retaining clip.
1.
The new retaining clip will go in the first hole after the location of the current clip towards the rear of the unit (see Diagram 5).

From the top side of the DS frame rail insert the new retaining clip into the hole towards the rear of the unit identified above (see Diagram 6).
a.
Make sure the new clips tapered end goes all the way through the hole and is secured before
moving onto
Step C.
Step C. Inserting brake lines into the new clip.
1.
Both lines need to be secured into one of the 4 locations on the current or new clip (see Diagram 7).
a.
If the frontward line was determined to be in the current clip during Step A2B leave it as is.
2.
Insert the line(s) that are not secured in the current clip to either the current clip or new clip, which ever one makes the insertion without strain.
a.
Make sure when lines are inserted, they do not rub against the top edge of the DS frame rail (see Diagram 7).

Dear Forest River Customer:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the United States’ National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Forest River has decided that a defect, which relates to the motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2018 Starcraft Candidate II, 2018-2024 Starcraft Allstar, Starcraft Senator II, 2022-2024 Starcraft Senator II MVP, 2023-2024 Champion Challenger, 2022-2024 Eldorado National Advantage, 2023-2024 Elkhart Coach, and 2019-2024 Glaval Universal, 2023 Starcraft Starlite Transit Buses.
WHAT IS THE DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE?
On certain transit buses, the brake lines may not be secured correctly. As a result, the brake lines could become damaged by contact with the frame rail. This could lead to a brake fluid leak and cause reduced braking.
EVALUATION OF THE RISK TO THE VEHICLE AND OPERATOR(S) RELATED TO THE RECALL.
If the brake lines touch the frame rail, the lines could develop a hole causing a loss of brake pressure and increasing the risk of a crash.
WHAT IS FOREST RIVER AND OUR DEALERSHIPS GOING TO DO?
Forest River is notifying dealerships of the recall. You may have the recall corrected at any Forest River dealership. However, it is preferable if you have your selling dealership perform the remedy. Forest River completely covers your cost for the remedy; you will not receive any bill of sale for anything covered under the above recall number.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Please contact your dealer immediately and request a service appointment to schedule the free remedy to secure the brake lines. The vehicle Owner is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. Please state you have been notified by Forest River of having a recall in process for your vehicle and provide the recall number for the dealership. It is also helpful to the dealership to have a copy of this letter when you take your vehicle in for the recall remedy.

HOW LONG WILL THE REMEDY PROCESS TAKE?
The estimated time of repair is .25 hours. However, the dealership may need to keep your vehicle or schedule an appointment with you for a later date to fit into their regular service schedule.
WHAT IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY PAID FOR REPAIRS TO YOUR VEHICLE FOR THIS PARTICULAR CONDITION?
If you have already paid for a repair that is within the scope of this defect under recall, you still need to have this recall inspected and/or performed to ensure the correct parts and procedures were utilized.
Additionally, you may be eligible for a refund of previously paid repairs. Refunds will only be provided for within the scope of this defect under recall.
