Summary
Apollo Tires (US) Inc. (Apollo Tires
) is recalling certain Vredestein Hitrac, Quatrac, and Quatrac Pro+ tires. A contaminated compound may cause the steel belts to separate.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in May 2024. Owners may contact Apollo Tires customer service at 1-877-2340-867 or contact.us@apollotyres.com.

May 6, 2024: Apollo Tires management in Europe receive Early Warning Report from Customer Service Europe, informing 3 similar complaints from different customers, with tires presenting asymmetrical contour and dimensions out of specification. So far, no warranty complaint from US market.
May 6, 2024: Apollo tires blocks warehouse stocks of all tires produced in 2024 from articles involved on the complaints, preventing further sales.
May 6 to 13th May: Apollo Tires conduct internal traceability and root cause analysis to identify potential causes and define scope of tiyres affected.
May 14th, 2024: Apollo Tires determines that a safety related defect exists in the subject tires, and it is verified that 194 (one hundred and ninety-four) tires from the affected products have been sent to the US market.
May 20th: Apollo Tires notifies NHTSA by email of the safety-related defect and attempts to submit its Defect Information Report via the NHTSA recalls portal.
May 22nd: Apollo Tires successfully submits its Defect Information Report via the NHTSA recalls portal.

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Apollo Tires (US) Inc. will conduct a safety recall campaign to replace the
subject tires that have been sold in the replacement market. All known customers, distributors, dealers and independent outlets will receive notification of the campaign, instructions on how to identify the subject tires, information regarding removal of the subject tires from service, and instructions on the return/disposal of affected tires. Apollo Tires will offer to reimburse the replacement cost for any customer who, prior to this campaign, replaced these tires due to the condition described above. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Only a limited amount of 194 tires from 5 (five) affected products have been delivered to US customers. Remaining tires produced from other products in DOT week 0924 and tires produced in other week codes are not affected by the described recall condition.
On the 6th of May 2024 Apollo identified the use of limited batch of non- conforming compound that was produced on March 1st, 2024. This compound was used to produce the limited number of 194 tires in the week 3rd – 9th March 2024. The process of identification and handling of non-conforming material has been revised to address the issue. Recall Schedule :
