Chronology :
In October 2022, following a notification by RH Sheppard that it had determined a defect existed in certain steering gear assemblies, Oshkosh conducted a recall of vehicles equipped with potentially defective parts (22E-073). In February 2024, RH Sheppard extended the scope of the recall to include additional steering gear assemblies that were not included in its original recall. (23E-094) The expansion of the RH Sheppard recall was brought to Oshkosh’s attention and after investigating whether any of the additional recalled parts were installed in Oshkosh vehicles, Oshkosh concluded that any affected components were used as service or aftermarket replacement parts only. On May 30, 2024, Oshkosh decided to conduct a recall of the additional set of steering gear assemblies identified by RH Sheppard.
