The G9 protection Module is to be installed onto the G9 ECM with the following steps:
Step 1; locate the G9 at bed foot area
Step 2; Install the G9 Protection Module as described below.
(2.1) Locate the Battery Disconnect at
Entry door and turn off.
(2.3) Attach G9 Protection module onto
the G9 Power Stud with external tooth
washer nut and Torque to 70 in/lbs.
(2.2)Remove the external tooth washer
nut and existing power cable from the G9
ECM power input stud.
(2.4) Install Power Cable onto G9
Protection Module stud with external
tooth washer nut and Torque to 70 in/lbs.

The G9 protection Module is to be installed onto the G9 ECM with the following steps:
Step 1; locate the G9 at bed foot area
Step 2; Install the G9 Protection Module as described below.
(2.5) Locate existing G9 ground wire
connection and disconnect or cut wire.
(2.6) Strip each Ground wire at least 10mm
and splice the G9 ECM Ground, the
protection Module Ground and the
Existing Ground wire together.
(2. 7) Turn on Battery disconnect Switch
and verify that the LED illuminates.
This concludes the G9 Protection Module
installation.

Original Recall (20E058) was conducted in 2020 where the G9 ECM failure was discovered, and recall was undertaken. On Friday 5/31/2024 Firefly Integrations learned that there were 13 affected units that had not been part of the original recall in 2020. Firefly Integrations first verified the information with Foretravel Motorcoach and then determined that a recall for the remaining units was needed. On 6/5/2024 Firefly sent offical notification to Foretravel that a recall was needed. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : G9 ECM can fail if excessive voltage is applied with the risk of a thermal
event. To prevent this from happening, units should only be charged with a 12 Volt charger not exceeding18V. Foretravel Motorcoach will submit a Zero-dollar Purchase Order to Firefly for 13 Protection modules used to correct the issue. The parts will come at no cost to Foretravel, and labor claims should be submitted to Firefly integrations for reimbursement at no cost to Owner. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The remedy component is a highly visible red component with an LED indicator which is affixed to the original G9 ECM.
The component is no longer being used in production. Any replacement units will be shipping with the G9 protection module affixed the G9 ECM. The G9 Protection module limits voltage to the G9 ECM and eliminates the potential over voltage issue.
