Safety Recall: Possible Tie-Rod Separation
NHTSA Recall: 19V728
Dear <First name, Last name>:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Arcimoto has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2019 model year FUVs.
Why is your vehicle being recalled?
Due to uncontrolled changes to vehicle alignment, there may be inadequate thread length of engagement (LoE) between inner and outer tie-rods. If the LoE between inner and outer tie-rods is inadequate, certain forces may cause the separation of the tie-rod assembly, which would make the vehicle more difficult to control and increase the likelihood of a crash without warning.
What will we do?
A trained Arcimoto Service Technician will remedy the defect by reworking existing parts and realigning the vehicle. The repair procedure will be performed at no cost and can take up to one hour to complete.
What should you do?
Contact Arcimoto to schedule a service appointment.
Do you have questions?
