Federal Indentification Tag Incorrect/Part 567

Summary
Keystone RV Company (Keystone
) is recalling certain 2021 Outback travel trailers. The Federal Identification Tag incorrectly states that the tire pressure should be 65 PSI, when the correct tire pressure is 80 PSI. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, “Certification.”
Remedy
Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the Federal Identification Tag, free of charge. The recall began August 25, 2020. Owners may contact Keystone
customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone
’s number for this recall is 20-384.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Keystone RV Company has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model 2021 Outback Travel Trailers. As a result, Keystone
RV is conducting a safety recall. We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you; however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.
Reason for this recall
It has been decided that the vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Part 567, โCertification.โ The vehicles subject to this recall may have been manufactured with the incorrect information on the Federal Identification Tag. The tag indicates the tire pressure as 65 PSI. The correct tire pressure is 80 PSI. An incorrect label may lead to unintentionally underinflating the tires, increasing the risk of a crash.
What we will do
We have enclosed the corrected tags to remedy the situation.
What we need you to do
At your earliest convenience, apply the new Federal Identification Tag over top of the existing label. (The tag is located on the driver side front, and entry door frame.) Installation will take approximately ยฝ hour. If you require assistance installing the label, please make an appointment with your dealer and bring the unit to the dealership and they will install the label at no cost to you.
If you have questions
Your dealer is best equipped to obtain parts and provide service to ensure your RV is corrected as promptly as possible. Please contact Keystone Customer service if your dealer is unable to assist or if you take your RV to your dealer on the agreed service date, and the dealer does not remedy the condition within a reasonable amount of time, or without charge to you. You may be eligible to receive reimbursement if you paid to have the defect resolved prior to receiving this correspondence.

2021 Outback Travel Trailers, Models 301UBH, 302UBH
Serial Number Range: MB450132 – MB450863
Our records indicate unit(s) sold or in your present lot inventory fall within this range, which will require immediate preventative action. Important: If some of the units are still in your inventory, Federal Law requires you to complete the recall service on those units before retail delivery. By signing for and receiving the replacement Federal Sticker, you acknowledge that you will install the new Federal Sticker over the existing Federal Sticker on only the above described recreational vehicle.
NOTICE: The Federal Sticker may not be used for any purpose other than to affix it to the described Keystone recreational vehicle. If the sticker is used for any other purpose whatsoever, the dealership could be responsible for all consequences of such misuse and all associated penalties, fines, and judgments that may be imposed under any applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations.
