Summary
Triple E Recreational Vehicles (Triple E) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Wonder W24FTB, W24RTB, and W24MB motorhomes. The Multiplex G9 electronic control center can fail if excessive voltage is applied.
Remedy
Triple E will notify owners, and dealers will install a protection module on the G9 system, free of charge. The recall began November 26, 2020. Owners may contact Triple E customer service at 1-800-447-0343. Triple E’s number for this recall is CA#9830-1.

The following service technician instructions are for the installation of the G9 Protection Module to comply with Transport Canada recall number QAAR 9830 and the US National Highway Transportation Safety Association (NHTSA) product safety recall, Campaign Number QAAR 9830. The G9 Protection Module will provide overvoltage protection for the G9 Electronic Control Module (ECM).

The G9 Protection Module is to be installed on the G9 in the following steps.

Make sure that the battery disconnect located just inside the door is OFF.

Locate the G9 control module access panel of the drivers side large storage compartment.
Remove the #6 Phillips screws to reveal the G9 panel

Locate the G9 control module access panel of the drivers side large storage compartment.
Remove the #6 Phillips screws to reveal the G9 panel

Locate the G9 control module access in the pantry/wardrobe.

Remove the external tooth washer nut and existing power cable from the G9 EDM power input stud.

Attach G9 Protection Module onto the G9 Power Stud with an external tooth½” washer nut and torque to 70 in/lbs.

Install power cable onto G9 Protection Module stud with a ½” conical washer nut and torque to 70 in/lbs.

Locate existing G9 ground wire connection and disconnect or cut wire.

Splice G9 Protection Module ground wire to the existing G9 ECM ground wire.
Strip each ground wire 10mm, insert each wire fully into Wago 222-413 terminal block, move orange tab from the open to fully locked position.

Completed wiring shown

Turn on Main Power Switch and verify that the LED illuminates.

Replace access panels and resecure with original screws.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National
Traffic & Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Triple E Recreational Vehicles has decided that certain 2019 & 2020 Wonder motorhomes manufactured between May 8, 2018 & May 15, 2020 fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard
Description of Safety Defect:
The Firefly Integrations G9 Electronic control center can fail if excessive voltage is applied, causing the components on the board to become damaged. If too much voltage is applied to the unit and the circuit board becomes damaged, there would be an increased risk of fire and bodily injury.
To Have This Modification Performed:
We request your assistance to have this Safety issue corrected. Please follow the included SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) to perform the recall. For reimbursement submit a warranty application form.
Labour to perform this Recall: 0.5 hrs/ unit
