Chronology :
Feb 1 a dealer notified us that during a PDI they discovered that the propane line was not properly connected to the water heater. We immediately investigated and discovered that this vehicle had undergone postproduction installation of the water pump due to component shortages when it was on the production line.
When the shortage component became available, it was installed off-line. This required the removal and reinstallation of the water heater off-line. For this vehicle, after that re-installation was completed, there was no evidence of the required propane system being re-tested because it was performed off-line.
Therefore we suspect that a small number of water heaters may have been removed and reinstalled that did not get the required propane system test.
We documentation of all all of the post-production activities of component shortages so we were able to identify every off-line installation of components that would have required disconnection of anything in the propane system and established a list of the specific vehicles where this would have been necessary.
That list identified 30 specific vehicles of possible concern. These vehicles were not still in inventory, so we immediately contacted with the dealers who have been shipped those vehicles to perform a propane system check and report the result back to Roadtrek Inc. The recall is for that specific list of 30 suspect vehicles.

Part 573 Safety Recall Report 22V-065 Page 3 The information contained in this report was submitted pursuant to 49 CFR §573 Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : The propane connection to the water heater must be inspected to ensure that the propane line is properly attached to the water heater. If not, the connection must be corrected and then the propane system must be tested. A propane system test is part of the required dealer PDI process. All vehicles within the suspect population that are at dealers that have not been PDI’d must be immediately inspected for propane system integrity and they are not to wait until they go through the normal PDI process. The corrective action form will require that all dealers submit their PDI documentation to Roadtrek Inc confirming that the propane system was properly tested for all vehicles within the suspect population to confirm that for each vehicle in their inventory and those that were delivered to retail customers had their propane systems properly inspected during the PDI as required by Roadtrek Inc. and the RVIA. Any vehicle for which proper PDI documentation is not available will be recalled to direct the owner to bring the vehicle to a dealer to have the propane system inspected. If there are any instances of this, these owners will be instructed to immediately turn off their propane supply until this inspection can be performed. Any retail customers that are required to do this will have the inspection performed at no cost to them. Dealers will be reimbursed for any inspections they are required to perform. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The propane line may not be properly connected to the fitting on the rear of the water heater Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The issue did not happen in production but afterwards during supplemental addition of shortage components. A procedure has been added to the production QAR that identifies whether post-production activities are required on the vehicle and requires all post-production component installation that interrupts a fuel delivery system to be retested and this test result documented in the QAR Recall Schedule : Description of Recall Schedule : the dealers that were delivered the 20 vehicles will contacted directly immediately Planned Dealer Notification Date : FEB 08, 2022 – FEB 11, 2022 Planned Owner Notification Date : FEB 21, 2022 – FEB 25, 2022 Purchaser Information : The following manufacturers purchased this defective/noncompliant equipment for possible use or installation in new motor vehicles or new items of motor vehicle equipment: Part 573 Safety Recall Report 22V-065 Page 4 The information contained in this report was submitted pursuant to 49 CFR §573 Name : Address : Country : Company Phone : * NR – Not Reported
