Right Side Rearview Mirror Positioned Incorrectly
An incorrectly positioned right-side mirror can reduce the driver’s visibility of what is around the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost
) is recalling certain 2020-2022 X3-45 Commuter vehicles. The right-side rearview mirror is positioned incorrectly, obstructing the view of the right side of the vehicle and the adjacent lane.
Remedy
Dealers will repair or replace the right rearview mirror, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 30, 2022. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost

DESCRIPTION
This procedure must be carried out in a Prevost service center.
On vehicles affected by this recall, the right-side rearview mirror is in a set position which does not permit the driver to have a clear view of right side of the vehicle and the adjacent lane.
Perform the procedure to adjust the mirror.

Wear your PPE including but not limited to the following: Safety First! 0BSR22-08C Page 4 / 13 Writer:EL PROCEDURE DANGER Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop the engine. Prior to working on the vehicle, set the ignition switch to the OFF position and trip the main circuit breakers equipped with a trip button. On Commuter type vehicles, set the battery master switch (master cut-out) to the OFF position. Lockout & Tag out (LOTO) must be performed during set-up, maintenance or repair activities. Refer to your local procedure for detailed information regarding the control of hazardous energy. VISUAL REQUIREMENT 1. Locate the right (curb side) mirror. 2. The side molding shown on the image must be seen along the outer edge of the flat mirror when looking at the mirror from the driver seat. If adjustment is needed, carry on with step 5. Rotate the mirror assembly so that the side molding can be seen from the driver seat along the outer edge of the flat mirror (requirement of step 4) Note: make sure the flat mirror is still turned toward the vehicle up to the end of the stroke as done in step 3. 8. Remove the 4 screws fastening the mirror assemble (Figure 11) and install shim 492153 as shown on Figure 12. 12. Use two new longer screws p/n 5000010 to fasten the mirror assembly on the thicker side of the shim. APPLY BLUE Loctite on threads Tighten to 34 lbs-ft (4 screws) 13. Check that the โ63 mm minimumโ requirement is satisfied. To qualify, repairs must have been completed no earlier than one year prior to the release of the safety recall (notification to the government) and no later than 10 days after the last mailing of the initial customer notification letter pertaining to the recall. will launch a safety recall to repair / change the right rearview mirror on the potentially affected vehicles. Letters will be sent to owners explaining how to procced to change the defective mirrors. This repair / change will be done free of charge (Labor and parts) for the customers. In case customers already did the right rearview mirror repair or change before the safety recall was released, the customer can contact Prevost for a reimbursement according to Prevost reimbursement plan. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : When installed, defective right rearview mirrors can not provide a clear view of the right side of the vehicle and the adjacent lane (or the curb). The good mirror will permit the driver to adjust the field of view so that he can have a clear view of the right lane or the curb. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : On 2022-04-20 internal retrofit R22022 was launch to inspect and correct the defect. A specific inspection was stablished before delivery to ensure that mirrors provide a clear rearview of the right side of the vehicle and the adjacent lane or the curb. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : When installed, defective right rearview mirrors can not provide a clear view of the right side of the vehicle and the adjacent lane (or the curb). The good mirror will permit the driver to adjust the field of view so that he can have a clear view of the right lane or the curb. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : On 2020-04-20 internal retrofit R22022 was launch to inspect and correct the defect.
