Chronology of Defect / Noncompliance Determination Provide the chronology of events leading up to the defect decision or test data for the noncompliance decision: __ On June 28 2022 DTNA received a report from a dealer of a potential discrepancy with the tire description on the Vehicle Information Label on four newly delivered buses. DTNA staff promptly began an investigation. DNTA staff reviewed build records to determine if any additional buses were built with the same discrepancy. DNTA also reviewed warranty records and field reports and found no similar issues. Once DTNA had sufficient information, on July 18 2022 DTNA decided to conduct a voluntary non-compliance recall on certain Thomas Built Buses Minotour SWR buses. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Identify the Remedy Describe the defect/noncompliance remedy program, including the manufacture’s plan for reimbursement. _____A new label will be mailed to affected customers with the correct tire size information. Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA), on behalf of its wholly owned subsidiary, Thomas Built Buses, has decided that model years 2019-2023 Minotour school busses with Single Rear Wheel (SRW) per wheel-end configuration of chassis manufactured August 6, 2018, through May 4, 2022 fail to confirm Federal Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, “Tire Selection and Rims”. The vehicle Information Label, tire, and Loading Information Label state incorrect tire size information. An incorrect tire size label can increase the risk of a crash. New label(s) will be mailed to customers with the correct tire size information, free of charge. If you do not own the vehicle that corresponds to the identification number(s), which appears on the Recall Notification, please return the notification to the Warranty Campaigns Department with any information you can furnish that will assist us in locating the present owner.
