Check to make sure fuel cap seats properly to the fuel neck. If bad (Figure 3), the fuel neck will need changed. (Figure 4) 3. Begin by removing the two fuel neck screws using a #2 square drive. Loosen the hose clamps on the back side of the fuel neck using a 5/16” socket or nut driver. (Figure 7) 5. Remove hoses from existing fuel neck and replace with new one. Test fit the cap on the new fuel neck to make sure it seats properly before installing it. (Figure 8) 6. Refasten the hose clamps on new fuel neck. (Figure 9) 7. Align fuel neck so that existing pre-drilled holes can be used. (Figure 10) Fill hole should be at the bottom. 8. Reattach fuel cap with second screw and twist on cap until it clicks. (Figure 11) Jayco’s sole obligation under our limited warranty is to repair or replace defective materials and/or workmanship deemed our responsibility as determined by Jayco in our sole discretion. Jayco reserves the right to use new and/or remanufactured parts or materials of similar quality to complete any work, and to make parts and/or design changes as appropriate without notice to anyone. Hayes Ave. Fremont Ohio 43420 Country : United States Chronology : September 22, 2022 an internal communication was received from Jayco production facility informing Jayco Compliance that they discovered that the fuel caps on the filler fuel necks to the cargo fuel tanks are not seating properly. All affected units in production were repaired. October 3, 2022 the Warranty Incident Review Committee (WIRC) discussed this incident and elevated to the Corrective and Preventive Action Committee (CPAC). October 5, 2022 CPAC met to discuss this incident and elevated this incident to the Safety Steering Committee (SSC). On October 10, 2022, SSC met and voted that a safety recall was appropriate for this incident. Jayco Inc. has not received any warranty claims for this issue. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Jayco dealers will inspect filler fuel neck and if necessary replace filler fuel neck for the cargo fuel tank. Repairs made prior to the recall will be reimbursed in accordance with our Recall Reimbursement Plan on file with NHTSA. Jayco will notify affected retail owners and dealers. Jayco Inc. will file completion reports. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The fuel cap will tighten down and seat to the filler fuel neck properly.
