December 2022

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Micro Bird has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in 2019-2022 G5 electric school buses.

So that we can notify you of recalls affecting your vehicle(s), it is important that you inform us of any change or error in your mailing address, vehicle ownership or status.

(Please use the form at the bottom of this letter)

In certain vehicles, the power steering pressure line may be inadequately connected to the brake Hydroboost unit, which may result in a leak or sudden loss of power steering fluid. Sudden loss of power steering fluid may result in a loss of power steering assist, requiring increased steering effort, and loss of power brake assist, requiring increased force on the pedal to brake, potentially resulting in increased stopping distance.

A sudden loss of power steering assist and power brake assist increases the risk of a crash.

To complete this recall, locate the unit(s) in your fleet that appear on the attached List of Recalled Vehicles and contact a Micro Bird dealer to make an appointment to have your vehicle(s) inspected, and if the defect is present, replace the power steering lines, free of charge. Chronology :

In August 2022, while researching information about a vehicle we have built on the FordeBay logo MotorCraft Service site, it was discovered that the chassis on which this vehicle was built was part of Safety Recall 22S08. As all vehicles built on the recalled chassis had been delivered, we were not advised of this Safety Recall.

Based on the information provided in the recall documents we established that the modifications done to the power steering system during manufacture of an electric vehicle modified the power steering pressure line, but that the defect may still be present after completion of the vehicle. It was also identified that the parts presenting the defect may have been installed on chassis not part of Ford Safety Recall 22S08. Accordingly, it was decided, on October 25, 2022 to recall the electric vehicles in which the defect may be present, either part of Ford Safety Recall 22S08 or not.

Micro Bird has not received any other report of incident or claim regarding this defect
