Production Dates : AUG 16, 2022 – NOV 10, 2022 VIN Range 1 : Begin : NR End : NR Not sequential Description of Defect : Description of the Defect : The jump seat on the passenger side may be missing a safety clip that prevents the pivot rod from sliding. Without this safety clip, the pivot rod could shift causing the seat to fall. FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : A seat falling could increase the risk of an injury. Involved Components : Part 573 Safety Recall Report 22V-857 Page 2 The information contained in this report was submitted pursuant to 49 CFR §573 Component Name 1 : Jump Seat Component Description : Seat Component Part Number : 13676766 Supplier Identification : Component Manufacturer Name : Seats, Inc. Address : 1515 Industrial St Reedsburg Wisconsin 53959 Country : United States Chronology : On November 3, 2022, a jump seat collapsed on the vehicle assembly line. The seat was inspected and found to missing a retaining clip on one side. On November 7, jump seats were inspected and approximately 9% were found to be missing the retaining clip on one side of the pivot rod. A review of purchase order a receipt history were pulled to identify the potential population. This was complete on November 10, 2022 and on November 11, 2022, Shyft determined a potential safety defect could exist in the affected vehicles. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : The required retaining clip will be installed at no charge. Vehicles subject to this recall are still within their warranty period. Any claims would be processed through the normal warranty process. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Jump seats that have been remedied will have retaining clips on both ends of the pivot rod where the jump seats subject to this recall would be missing a retaining clip on one end of the pivot rod. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Jump seats subject to this condition were quarantined and inspected for the missing clip on November 7, 2022.
