) is recalling certain 2023 Northpoint FW travel trailers. The axle U-bolts may not be tightened properly, which can cause the axle to move out of position.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and tighten the U-bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 31, 2023. Owners may contact Jayco
customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco

Axle U-Bolt Torque Inspection and Repair
- When performing warranty or recall service, please make certain that appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used.
- The remedy is to torque the axle U-bolt nuts in a cross pattern to 110 ft lbs.
1. Locate the trailer on a level, flat, hard surface. Chock the wheels.
2. Follow the Dexter
instructions below.

Compliance to discuss the U-bolts on certain axles.
3/20/2023 The Warranty Incident Review Committee (WIRC) discussed the incident and elevated it to CPAC.
Following the WIRC meeting, an email was sent to the Corrective Preventive Action Committee (CPAC) to notify them of the incident prior to our next scheduled meeting to be held April 5, 2023. They were informed that due to the nature of the incident it needs to be elevated to the Safety Steering Committee (SSC) which is scheduled to meet on March 23, 2023.
3/23/2023 The SSC met and voted to proceed with filing a safety recall with NHTSA.

An operator error at the Dexter
Axle manufacturing plant caused the wrong specification to be used on the torque guns when the axle U-bolts were tightened. An insufficiently tightened U-bolt could allow the axle to slip out of position. An axle that moves out of position can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
The remedy consists of inspection and tightening the U-bolts. The remedy is free of charge and will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
