FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : Without thread sealant, LP may leak. This condition may lead to a fire causing personal injury. Description of the Cause : Manufacturing error. Identification of Any Warning that can Occur : An operator(s) may notice the smell of LP Gas and/or the LP Gas alarm may alert the operator(s). Involved Components : Component Name 1 : Thread Sealant Component Description : Thread Sealant Component Part Number : N/A Supplier Identification : Component Manufacturer Name : NR Address : NR NR Country : NR Chronology : On May 12, 2023, during a routine Corporate Standards Inspection, it was found that the manufacturing plant failed to apply thread sealant on the brass 90° fitting that is used to connect to the furnaces’ LPG steel pipe. On May 16, 2023, Forest Rivers Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) was notified and opened a research item into the concern. On May 19, 2023, Forest Rivers Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall. Part 573 Safety Recall Report 23V-359 Page 3 The information contained in this report was submitted pursuant to 49 CFR §573 All vehicles are located on Dealer premises, and none are retail sold. No Owner letter will be issued. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Forest River will provide all parts and labor free of charge to Consumers and Dealers. An authorized Forest River dealer will need to perform the remedy to inspect the brass 90° elbow that connects the rubber LPG gas line to the furnace. If it does not have any thread sealant on the furnace side apply thread sealant to the side of the 90° fitting that goes into the steel tube on the furnace. NO FURTHER ACTION IS NEEDED.
