The number of effected generators that were sold to QVSV by the vendor was 10. Out of the 10 that were sold to us, 2 of them were in our inventory and returned to Cummings Power. Make/Model – Onan QG 2800i EVAP, Part no. 2.8HGLAA-8303A. Production Dates : JAN 05, 2020 – JAN 03, 2023 Description of Defect : Description of the Defect : This fuel hose between the inline fuel filter and the Injection Pump Module (IPM) may have inadequate clamp force, possibly resulting in a gasoline leak. FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : A gasoline leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire. Description of the Cause : The cause of the issue is an inadequate specification of the fuel hose. Identification of Any Warning that can Occur : Bystanders may see or smell gasoline. A recall-specific reimbursement plan will be provided on the Recall Portal for those units not covered by the manufacturer’s limited warranty. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedy fuel hose has a unique part number A073T925. August 7, 2023 Reference: Cummings Campaign #PG5215 Dear Quality Vans & Specialty Vehicle Customer: This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Quality Vans has decided, based on information provided by Cummins, that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2020-2023 Ford Transit vans equipped with Onan QG 2800i and QG2800i EVAP generators that were manufactured between March 3, 2020 and January 31, 2023. Our records indicate that the generator installed on your vehicle may be one of the units affected. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION The fuel hose between the inline fuel filter and the Injection Pump Module (IPM) may not be properly secured, which can cause a gas leak. CONSEQUENCE A gasoline leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire. WHAT SHOULD YOU DO? Contact the nearest Cummins Distributor or authorized Warranty Dealer to arrange to have this campaign performed on your generator. Cummins will replace the fuel hose and clamps as necessary, free of charge. The distributor or dealer will work with you to schedule the best date to complete this repair. The repair is expected to take 2 hours to complete. Owners may contact Quality Vans & Specialty Vehicles customer service at 1-480-464-7007. In the meantime, if you see or smell gasoline leaking from the generator, you should immediately stop the generator and discontinue its use until necessary repairs are completed.
