These Bayside models were built with the now recalled Cummins Onan QG 2800i. There are 33 Chinook Bayside 2020-2024 models included in this recall. Production Dates : JUN 21, 2021 – JUN 01, 2023 VIN Range 1 : Begin : NR End : NR Not sequential Description of Defect : Description of the Defect : There may be inadequate clamp force on the fuel hose between the IMP and fuel filter, resulting in a possible gasoline leak. FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : The possible gasoline leak may increase the risk of a fire. Description of the Cause : There is an inadequate specification of the fuel hose. Identification of Any Warning that can Occur : Bystanders may smell or see gasoline. Component Part Number : A064P026 Supplier Identification : Component Manufacturer Name : Chinook Motor Coach Address : 1482 N Eel River Cemetery Rd Peru Indiana 46970 Country : United States Chronology : 04/13/2023 – 04/18/2023 – Chinook received an important safety recall from Cummins about the Onan QG 2800i being recalled. Then notified by Cummins that they will be performing the recall. 04/18/2023 – 05/22/2023 – Chinook reviewed its records and identified affected Bayside models, then provided the information to Cummins to perform the recall and send out owner notification letters. 05/12/2023 – Cummins came to Chinook and checked fuel hose lines and correct any if needed. 07/27/2023 – Chinook was notified and decided to conduct a safety campaign to address the affected Chinook Bayside models. There are no records of warranty claims relating to this recall, nor have there been any reports of accidents, injuries, or fires. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Cummins will be performing the recall and will be submitting quarterly reporting numbers. Chinook Motor Coach has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehjcle safety, exists in c.:ertajn 2020-2024 Chinook Bayside vehicles. WHY DOES MY VEHlCLE NEED REPAIRS? Cummins. Lnc. conducted a recall for certain Onan QG 2800i and QG2800i EV AP generators. Chinook RV records indicate that your Chinook Bayside contains one of these recalled generators. The fuel hose between the inline fuel filter and the Injection Pump Module may have inadequate clamp force, possibly resulting in a gasoline leak. A gasoline leak may jncrease the risk of fire in the presence of an ignition source. WHAT WILL YOUR DEALER DO? ‘{our authorized Cummins dealer will inspect the fuel hose and, if necessary, replace the fuel hose, free of charge. The repair should take approximately l.7 hours to complete. However. due to scheduling, your dealer may require your vehic le for longer.
