Then we determined which customers had gasoline generators installed within the time frame of the invoices and receiving log. We included 2 extra customers that are most likely not affected, but we will be notifying them just to be sure. We used our internal project management software to review production notes and timelines to confirm the dates match closely with the receiving log and invoices. Production Dates : FEB 22, 2021 – APR 04, 2023 VIN Range 1 : Begin : NR End : NR Not sequential Description of Defect : Description of the Defect : Cummins Onan Generator that is under call number 23E030 is installed on 6 Bengals. The generator fuel hose between the inline fuel filter and the Injection Pump Module (IPM) may have inadequate clamp force, possibly resulting in a gasoline leak. FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : A gasoline leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire. Description of the Cause : The cause of the issue is an inadequate fuel hose and clamp provided and installed by Cummins Onan. Identification of Any Warning that can Occur : Bystanders may see or smell gasoline at the rear of the coach. Part 573 Safety Recall Report 23V-539 Page 2 The information contained in this report was submitted pursuant to 49 CFR §573 Involved Components : Component Name 1 : Cummins Onan Generator Component Description : Gasoline RV Generator Component Part Number : Onan QG2800i Supplier Identification : Component Manufacturer Name : Cummins, Inc Address : Box 3005 columbus Indiana 47202-3005 Country : United States Chronology : Provan RV Industries was notified by our regional Cummins sales rep on 4/13/2023 that there was a recall on the generators we purchase. We verified no current generators in stock were on the recall serial number list. Then we developed a plan to track down the generators with the effected serial numbers. 7/13/2023 We decided to reach out Cummins to request a cross reference of serial numbers and invoice dates. Upon receipt of this list, we reviewed our receiving log and entered the dates that we received the generator and cross referenced those dates to our internal production tracking software. 7/29/2023 Once we were confident that we identified all potential effected customers, we generated the draft recall report and recall letter. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : 8 potential customers are being notified of the generator recall, and how to locate their generator serial number. Customers are advised to take it to an authorized Cummins Onan service center. If the service center insists on charging the customer, Provan RV Industries will reimburse the customer and work with Cummins directly to receive appropriate reimbursements for the repair. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedy fuel hose has a unique Cummins part number A073T925 Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : We confirmed in April 2023 no generator serial numbers in stock were affected by the recall. Per Cummins, all future generators will not be affected by this recall.
