Production Dates : MAY 18, 2018 – MAY 18, 2018 VIN Range 1 : Begin : 1n9G62A44J1012142 End : 1N9G62A44J1012142 Not sequential Description of Defect : Description of the Defect : Dexter Smart Steer Axle with bolt on steer arm may fracture at low speed during high stress as described in Dexter recall 22E-080 FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : The fractured steer am and attached tie rod may fail and fll to the ground causing a risk for separation. There is no loss of control of the unit when this failure occurs. Description of the Cause : Axle manufacturer recall Identification of Any Warning that can Occur : Independent castering of the steer axle and noise from dragging parts.
