) is recalling certain 2024 MD6 and MD7 vehicles. The steering gear fasteners may not be properly tightened.
Remedy
Dealers will tighten the steering gear fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 23, 2023. Owners may contact Mack
’s customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack

Description
Certain 2024 MD6 and MD7 model vehicles were manufactured from June 23, 2023 to July 21, 2023 when improperly calibrated torque tooling was in use. Under-torqued fasteners can result in loss of clamp load, which may affect the steering and potentially cause loss of vehicle control.
There have been no field reports, warranty claims or customer complaints associated with this issue.
The remedy will be to tighten the steering gear fasteners to specification.

Dealer Responsibilities
- The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Act require dealers to ensure that all new and used vehicles are free of safety defects and comply with all relevant safety standards at the time of delivery to the consumer.
- Dealers should make their personnel aware of the safety recall. In the event that a dealer has a vehicle included in the safety recall in their inventory to be sold, the condition must be corrected before releasing it to a customer.

- Vehicle list will be posted on the Trucks Dealer Portal September 1, 2023.
- Owner notification letters will be released on or before October 23, 2023.
