Summary
Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2016-2024 Allegro Bus, and 2017-2024 Zephyr motorhomes. The 240-Volt induction cooktop may not be grounded, which can create an electrical shock hazard if the wires short-circuit.
Remedy
Dealers will install a ground for the metal junction box, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 17, 2023. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin’s number for this recall is TIF-133.

Chronology :
During an RVIA inspection on 08/06/2023, it was found that there was no ground installed in the metal junction box to connect the 240V induction cooktop to the motorhome. Tiffin Engineering investigated and found that a ground had not been installed since we started using a 240V induction cooktop. The 240V induction cooktop was an option for all models of the Allegro Bus since 2016 model year and is standard equipment on all models of the Zephyr motorhome since the 2017 model year. 09/18/2023 the Safety Committee voted to do a recall after being informed of the results of the investigation.

This work will be completed at no charge to the customer. If owners have paid for this repair prior to the recall being issued, they can submit the invoice for that repair to Tiffin Motorhomes who will reimburse the customer. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedy component will have a ground installed for the metal junction box and the recalled component will not have a ground for the metal junction box. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : An Engineering Change Notification (ECN) was issued and put into production on 08/08/2023. All involved units still at Tiffin Motorhomes were corrected before shipping to dealers.
