23PBH: Interim Safety Recall – 567 and 579 Air Tank U-Bolts Chafing Fuel Tank
Interim Safety Recall
Certain model year 2021 to 2024, 567 and 579 vehicles built from 06/22/2020 through 06/16/2023 were equipped with air tank bracket G11-6439-009 mounted behind a fuel tank without a frame spacer. The air tank mounting U-bolts are different lengths and may contact the fuel tank, which can result in a hole and the potential for a fuel leak. Leaking fuel may lead to an increased risk of a fire.

will notify owners, and dealers will have to inspect the clearance between the end of the U-bolts that attach the air tank to the inside of the frame and the fuel tank. If the U-bolt is less than 6mm away from the fuel tank the dealers will have to cut off the excess U-bolt as close to the bracket as possible. If the U-bolt has contacted and damaged the fuel tank then the fuel tank will have to be drained and replaced while also cutting the U-bolt down to the bracket. This will be free of charge. Owners who incurred costs to obtain a remedy for the problem addressed in the recall in advance of receiving notification may seek reimbursement through the process outlined in the general reimbursement plan on file. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The distance between the fuel tank and the U-bolt is greater than or equal to 6mm. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The plant was re-trained on the process and the process documents were updated to clear up verbiage. Trucks were inspected at the plant on the 12th of June. Recall Schedule : Description of Recall Schedule : Notifications will be sent within 60 days.
