Sun Visor May Detach from Bracket
A detached sun visor can distract the driver or obstruct the view through the windshield, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2023 LFS and LFS Artic transit buses. The sun visor may detach and fall from the bracket.
Remedy
Nova Bus will inspect and repair the sun visor fasteners, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 15, 2024. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus number for this recall is CR5512.

September 05, 2023: The issue is raised to the safety forum as a potential risk for evaluation
September 07, 2023: Nova Bus opens a formal potential safety related issue investigation.
September 14, 2023: Nova Bus opens a formal potential safety related issue investigation.
September 28, 2023: The product safety evaluation committee recommends raising this issue to the product safety committee. Nova Bus initiates an internal factory campaign to inspect and remedy product.
October 10, 2023: Nova Bus performs and inspection in the field to further understand the fault frequency.
November 16, 2023: Product Safety Committee determination of product defect.
November 21, 2023: Nova Bus files 573 with NHTSA that a voluntary recall will be released to address the safety-related defect.
There have been no accidents or injuries related to this defect. Warranty experience with one customer shows a failure rate of 9 percent. There are three claims associated with this defect.

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Remedy program will be to perform an inspection of the sunvisor
fasteners and apply Loctite if not present.
All costs associated with this corrective measure will be covered by Nova
Bus. Pre-notification remedies will be addressed using the Nova Bus
general reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.
How Remedy Component Differs
from Recalled Component :
Remedy Component will have loctite applied and will have sufficient
retaining force to withstand vibrations such that the visor is held in place .
