Front Air Spring Suspension May Separate
A loss of suspension can cause a loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.

Nova Bus
(US) Inc. (Nova Bus
) is recalling certain 2023 LFS vehicles. The front air spring suspension hardware may separate from the attached plate, causing a sudden loss of suspension.
Remedy
Nova Bus
will replace the attachment plate, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 18, 2024. Owners may contact Nova Bus
customer service 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus
number for this recall is CR5537.

October 25, 2023, Nova Bus
informed by supplier that the weld nut used on the attachment plate is not compliant to Nova Bus
requirements.
November 01, 2023: The issue was raised to the safety forum as a potential risk for evaluation.
November 02, 2023: Nova Bus
opens a formal Potential Safety Related Issue investigation.
November 06, 2023: Delivery Stop issued. The front air spring attachment plate is removed and replaced with an attachment plate that conforms to component specifications for all buses within the factory.
November 15, 2023: Nova Bus
conducts testing of the potential failed condition to assess potential risk level.
December 07, 2023: Findings from the investigation are reviewed by the Product Safety Evaluation Committee and the recommendation is that this be brought to Product Safety Committee
December 15, 2023 The Product Safety Committee meets and decides that a product safety defect exists.
December 20, 2023: 573 Report filed with NHTSA .
There have been no accidents or injuries related to this issue. There have been no warranty claims, field reports or customer complaints associated with this issue.

Descriptive Information : The recall population is vehicles built from June 19, 2023 through June 22, 2023 that use the attachment plate N57071 to attach the front air spring to the vehicle frame.

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Vehicles will be recalled. Remedy program will be to remove the
attachment plate and replace it with an attachment plate that meets the mechanical and material properties specified for the component.
All costs associated with this corrective measure will be covered by Nova Bus
. Pre-notification remedies will be addressed using the Nova Bus
general reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.
How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production :
Remedy Component will have a replaced attachment plate that complies with the material and mechanical properties specified for this component. N57071 ATTACHMENT PLATE
This issue has been corrected within production as of November 06, 2023 by using the internal campaign and delivery stop process to replace the attachment plate on vehicles that were within the factory with attachment plates that conform to the component’s specifications. Additionally, conforming parts were used on new builds. Recall Schedule :
