Summary
Rosenbauer America is recalling certain 2020-2022 Avenger, 2019-2024 Commander, 2020-2023 Warrior, 2023 Commercial F-350, F-550, and 2024 Commercial 114SD vehicles. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits.
Remedy
Dealers will update the firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 19, 2024. Owners may contact Rosenbauer America customer service at 1-651-462-1000.

11/15/23: Rosenbauer was notified via a Teams Call with our IDEX Account Manager.
11/15/23: IDEX sent a list of impacted nodes by serial number and invoice date.
11/16/23: Rosenbauer started investigating how to pinpoint the impacted trucks by asking Engineering and Materials how these are tracked.
11/17/23: Rosenbauer started analyzing the proper inventory transactions to find which trucks are impacted.
A follow-up call with IDEX was arranged to ask for more clarifying information. It was decided that Rosenbauer needs the PO #s that were used to purchase the impacted nodes.
11/29/23: A reminder was sent to IDEX to obtain the PO #s.
12/4/23: We verbally reminded IDEX.
12/11/23: Email received from IDEX with PO #s. Unable to process that data set.
12/12/23: Received electronic spreadsheet of PO #s and SNs.
12/13/23: Data analysis started to tie recalled SNs to trucks.
12/13/23 – 12/20/23: Quarantined inventory and started applying remedy to trucks in Production.
12/22/23: Complete list of impacted trucks finalized.

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Rosenbauer will work with Dealers and Customers to ensure the firmware
in the 8 x 16 node is updated in affected vehicles that are within the identified version range. The remedy will be provided to customers free of charge. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Per Weldon, the recall population was determined based on product specifications associated with a specific firmware version. Recalled products have a different firmware version than those not included in the recall. The firmware version is recorded on a decal on each unit. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Rosenbauer will remedy all trucks in production prior to shipment by updating the firmware to the latest version from Akron’s website. published. We will then notify customers as the remedy plan has been established with Weldon and Rosenbauer Dealer Network.
