Description of the Safety Risk : Mirror glass with locking ring not fully seated may fall causing driver to lose use of their cab mirror. Lack of visibility may increase the risk of an accident or injury. Missing mirror glass would cause non compliance to FMVSS 111

Chronology :
July 2021: Start of production of the Mirrors for PACCAR Medium Duty.
11/14/2023 –12/18/2023 – Multiple meetings with PACCAR to discuss the issues. Root cause was determined. 1/23/2024 – PACCAR notified MEKRA Lang the Safety Recall decision.
1/24/2024 – MEKRA Lang determined to conduct a voluntary safety recall.
Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : MEKRA Lang is collaborating with PACCAR to complete PACCAR’s remedy
program. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Trucks that have been remedied will have a fully seated mirror glass locking ring.
All mirror assemblies on and off trucks at the plant were checked for a fully seated locking ring. Clean point is July 28, 2023. Mirror glass lock ring was added to quality checks performed at MEKRA Lang. MEKRA Lang is reviewing a design change for long term solution. Recall Schedule :
