Summary
Jayco
, Inc. (Jayco
) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Entegra Anthem, Aspire, Cornerstone, and Reatta XL motorhomes. The pedestal mounting plate on the driver’s seat may be improperly welded, causing the plate to separate and the seat assembly to loosen or detach. As such, these seat assemblies fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, “Seating Systems” and number 210, “Seat belt assembly anchorages.”
Remedy
Dealers will inspect for a missing weld and replace the pedestal as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 1, 2024. Owners may contact Jayco
customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco

Chronology :
On January 11, 2024, Villa International
sent an email to notify Jayco
Compliance regarding their NHTSA recall number 24E-002 and advised that they are recalling certain seat pedestals, with part number 400029. The pedestal mounting plate may be improperly welded, which can cause the plate to separate and the seat assembly to loosen or detach. As such, these seat assemblies fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, “Seating Systems,” and number 210, “Seat belt assembly anchorages.” A loose or detached seat assembly increases the risk of injury. The Villa seats affected were fabricated and delivered to Jayco
from 12. 27.21 through 3.27.22. These seats were installed into Jayco
Entegra, Anthem, Aspire, Cornerstone, Reatta XL vehicles.
On January 15, 2024 the Warranty Incident Review Committee (WIRC) discussed the incident and determined it should be elevated to CPAC.
On January 17, 2024 the Corrective and Preventive Action Committee (CPAC) met to discuss this incident and elevated it to the Safety Steering Committee.
On January 25, 2024 the Safety Steering Committee voted in favor of proceeding with a noncompliance recall for failing to comply with (FMVSS) number 207, “Seating Systems,” and number 210, “Seat belt assembly anchorages.”

Description of Remedy Program : Jayco
Inc. dealers will inspect for a missing weld at the can base and if the
weld is missing they will replace the pedestal, as necessary, free of charge. There are no warranty claims or complaints associated with this recall.
Jayco
