Descriptive Information : The incorrectly installed seal is grey in color and has the words “OIL SIDE” embossed on it.

Description of Defect :
Description of the Defect : It has been decided that a substituted oil seal from a different vendor was improperly installed and over time will allow oil in the sealed hub to leak on to the braking system.

Description of the Safety Risk : Under certain conditions during travel, the improperly installed seal may
allow the oil to leak leading to an increased risk of vehicle crash.
Description of the Cause : The seal was mounted incorrectly. Identification of Any Warning
that can Occur : Visible oil leakage on the wheel.

01.09.2024 – Lippert production detected the problem. 01.10.2024 – Lippert open an investigation to the possible causes.
02.22.2024– Investigation completed, no claims reported. Set date to meet with the Safety Committee. 02.26.2023:- Safety Committee reviewed the information and concluded that the data reviewed indicated a unanimous vote for a voluntary recall. Investigation called for to determine affected unit range.
03.5.2024: Lippert Files 573 to launch Recall. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : The remedy is to inspect the seal orientation and replace as needed. As an
equipment supplier we will notify the OEM’s of the effected components sold. We will assist the OEM’s as needed in their notification to dealers and/or consumers. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The employees have been trained on the correct orientation of the substituted seals.
Components were quarantined, inspected then repaired as indicated by inspection. Recall Schedule :
Description of Recall Schedule : As an equipment supplier we will notify the OEM’s of the effected
components sold. We will assist the OEM’s as needed in their notification to dealers and/or consumers.
