Summary
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS vehicles. Missing electrical components may prevent the battery disconnect switch from functioning.
Remedy
Nova will install additional wiring and relay, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to mailed May 3, 2024. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova’s number for this recall is CR5566.

June 06, 2023 Nova Bus is informed that the Battery Disconnect Switch is not working as expected.
July 24, 2023 An Internal Campaign was launched to inspect and correct all vehicles in production before being delivered.
February 08, 2024 Product Safety is informed of the issue and it is raised for evaluation as a potential safety risk.
February 15, 2024 A formal potential safety related issue investigation is opened.
February 28, 2024 Results of the investigation are presented to the Product Safety Committee which determines that a product safety defect exists.
March 4, 2024 DIR Filed with NHTSA.
There have been no accidents or injuries related to this issue, there have been no warranty claims, field reports or customer complaints associated with this issue.

Description of the Defect : The subject vehicles may have been built with missing electrical components that may result in the Battery Disconnect Switch failing to disconnect the battery when turned to the off position.

started, increasing the risk of injury to anyone nearby the engine compartment during maintenance operations.

installed such that the Battery Disconnect Switch will operate as intended. Reimbursement for the recall will be covered by the Manufacturer’s Reimbursement Plan on file with NHTSA.
