Summary
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Forest River Cardinal, Wildcat, 2018-2019 Cedar Creek, 2021 Columbus, 2023 Continental Cargo, 2021-2024 Dynamax DX3, Dynamax Dynaquest XL, Dynamax Isata, Forest River IBEX, 2022-2024 Dynamax Europa, Forest River NOBO, 2022-2023 Forest River Sandstorm, Shockwave, Stealth, and 2021-2023 Dynamax Force trailers. The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range may fail, causing the board to overheat.
Remedy
Dealers will disconnect and cut the circuit powering the LED backlights and terminate the wiring, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by May 27, 2024. Chronology :
On April 4, 2024, Forest Rivers Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) received notice from Suburban of recall 24E028. OCC opened a research item the same day to begin identifying if in fact those affected had been installed into vehicles.
On April 9, 2024, and April 10, 2024, OCC found the components within certain vehicles. OCC also discovered that suspect ranges/cooktops have been installed as replacement components into earlier model year vehicles, that are prior to the scope dates stated by Suburban in their recall 24E028. Due to the scope Forest River is using as compared to the number of sold range/cooktops Suburban indicated sold to Forest River, our scope is larger, thus Forest River believes the affected population is 81%.
On April 12, 2024, Forest Rivers Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall.

This Customer Notification is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the United States National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
REASON FOR THIS RECALL
Suburban Manufacturing has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in Slide-In Range Models that contain Red LED Backlit Knobs that were installed in recreational vehicles. The LED backlight printed circuit boards (PCB) are not fully coated. The lack of conformal coating in the connection passages between the layers of the PCB can allow liquid from the cooktop surface to accumulate which could result in a short circuit resulting in the failure of the PCB. If the PCB fails, it can be come overheated, and the polyethylene cover of the lights can melt and possibly ignite causing a fire.
WHAT WE WILL DO
Work Instruction #206346 is provided with this letter to provide the remedy process to deactivate the LED backlights of the knobs and to properly terminate the electrical connections. Suburban will provide this remedy at no cost to owners. With proper documentation, Suburban will reimburse owners per its general reimbursement policy if their range was remedied prior to the issuing of this recall.
