Summary
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain Jayco Swift, Swift LI, Entegra Coach Ethos, and Ethos LI motorhomes. The driver seat belt warning light and audible chime may not activate as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”
Remedy
FCA dealers will inspect and replace the driver seat belt buckle as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 14, 2024. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267.

On April 16, 2024, Jayco received notification via US mail from FCA of an active recall 24V-129 regarding seatbelt buckle sensor. On April 17, 2024, Jayco’s Warranty Incident Review Committee (WIRC) reviewed the incident and elevated it to CPAC. On April 17, 2024, The Corrective Preventive Action Committee (CPAC) decided to elevate the incident to the Safety Steering Committee (SSC). On April 25, 2024, SSC voted to proceed with a pass through chassis recall.

Description of Remedy Program : FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles to
inspect and, if necessary, replace the driver seat belt buckle. FCA US has a longstanding policy and practice of reimbursing owners who have incurred the cost of repairing a problem that subsequently becomes the subject of a field action. To ensure consistency, FCA US, as part of the owner letter, will request that customers send the original receipt and/or other adequate proof of payment to the company for confirmation of the expense.
FCA will be reporting the quarterly completion rates to NHTSA. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedy component is a driver seat belt buckle that meets FMVSS 208 Occupant Crash Protection requirements.
